Tellitome, I don't know if you have visited Australia, it's a pretty big place. As a long distance trucky I covered most of it over the long years. I suppose my answer to your question would be encompassing Australia.

I would be slightly obtuse and say "my life!" I have also flown from NZ to London which was around 12,000 miles..

A plane, from Atlanta to Manchester. Thats about 6,000 miles and 8 hours :D

22+ hours by plane. Frankfurt - Sydney. and well, on road we made a trip from Sydney to Cairns and right after back. it was around 7000 kms..

To Mallorca, Sp. 2 days, planes, trains and a ferry. Really hot and lots of yelling kids. Next time, I'm swimming from the mainland. LOL
