  • Steve Martin once said, "I look for a girl with a head on her shoulders; I hate necks!"
  • i hate liars. i can't stand them. expecially people who just lie to be lying, you know they lie about everything. so my answer is someone who doesn't lie. they have to like what i like. be sweet, confident, self-sufficient and nice to look at and i don't necessarily mean looks, they've got to have a personality. also, be really, really understanding. i'm sure i'm leaving something out.
  • I suppose that depends on the person. I myself would look for the following qualities in a mate: 1) Humor- I love to laugh, and I love people who make me laugh. 2) Loyalty- It is VERY important to find someone who believes in commitment and will be loyal to you in marrige or in a simple dating relationship. 3) Comunication- You need to be able to talk to your partner and trust that they will take into consideration you thoughts and opinions. If your relationship lacks this one simple quality, then you may as well be kissing a brick wall. 4) Comprimise- Both partners need to be able to give a little. One reason I believe alot of relationships fail is because one or both partners are selfish and want things their way. 5) Common goals- It is important to discuss with you partner things such as plans for your life, and wether or not you want children. 6) Love- There is a difference between Infatuation and Love. Dont let your heart get in the way of your mind and reason. Give it time to mature and dont hgo making any long turm commitments until your sure that what your feeling is real.Be sure that you partner is will to do the same. This is only my opinion. And I'm still young, but these are things I have been taught. And these are the things I will apply to my life.
  • When I met Hubby, I wasn't looking and really had no idea what the "ideal mate" should be, so I guess I got lucky, thank goodness. The things that most attracted me to him were/are his sense of peacefulness and self acceptance. He was so different than any guy I had ever dated, he never seemed like he was trying to prove something. Also, he is extremely intelligent, but he never gave the impression that he 'knew it all' - rather, he always seemed so open to learning from others experiences as well as his own. On the flip, I was so comfortable with myself when I was with him (still do), which was very important to me.
  • I have tried all of the qualities most people look for and I am without a partner. I think I should rethink what Ive looked for in the past. Guess now what I will look at is his bank account. What kind of car he drives. Big house. Im not normally materialistic but love hasnt worked for me.
  • Someone who understands me and all my quirks...I mean i'm not normal by any means, but what is normal? haha...a person that is attractive inside and out...morals...goals...opinions, open minded, driven...compassionate....
  • Honesty & integrity. Trust. Respect. Loyalty. Forgiveness. Acceptance. Tolerance. Humbleness. Lovable. Forgivable. Good character and attitude. Sense of Humour. He's got to be himself, even if other people hate him for it. Of course, I'm willing to be flexible with these issues as I understand he is human and therefore, makes mistakes. :)
  • Good Ones, without all the drama, With a good head on there shoulders(PLEASE);)
  • Sense of humor Respect Honesty Romantic Trustful
  • Strength of character, faith, sense of humor, and a strong work ethic.
  • Good mother. Intelligence. Good looking. . Basically good DNA. . oh yeah, helpful and not a bitch
  • I married the first girl that I met who was HERSELF. Personality is a huge deal when selecting your wife. She's gorgeous, but there are plenty of gorgeous women who are ugly on the inside. Now, a couple of years ago when I was single and not ready to settle down... personality wasn't very high on my list. >:) So I guess the honest answer would be it depends on what stage of someone's life you meet them in. If my wife would've met me five years before we got married, I probably would've passed her up. Kinda weird to think of it that way, but it's the truth.
  • Me? Looks are important. I mean I do have to be physically attracted to them but most of all I have to like who they are personality wise. I want someone who is going to be understanding and accept me for me and all my quirks. Someone who can make me smile and not have to try hard to be able to do it. Someone who thinks about me throughout their day...someone with compassion for others, helpful, friendly, playful. Someone who is a little old fashioned and still belives in chivalry.
  • Someone that has my same interests. Namely money. :)
  • Apparently I'm looking for a woman who will just shut up and trust that whatever I do is going to be just fine. Good damn luck to me huh?
  • Someone easy-going, likes quirkiness, and a bit old fashioned. Like me. Actually I'm looking for someone I appreciate and appreciates me. Pretty simple I guess.
  • in a man i would look for looks, kind hearted and he has to have a great respect for women thats so important to me. And also has to be a good worker and not a lay about that collects the labour lol
  • A lot more than most can offer!
  • Someone who I can have a good flowing conversation with.
  • Intelligence and Humor. The combination of these determines the attractivness of the Man. At least for MWA.
  • Let's be honest here. A nice soft body, ample boobage and a nice butt. Intellectually, a nice brain full of lots of cool and useful information.
  • I will attempt to answer my own question here....I want someone who is okay with being who they are. Not fake. Someone faithful ofcoarse! Not addicted to DRUGS that would be nice. Funny, nice smile, and good in bed! LOL
  • Remember to take any answers you read here with a grain of salt. . . . http://www.nerve.com/screeningroom/books/thestorytellingproblem/
  • As a man that has failed at marriage twice... Okay I just damaged the creedence of my opinion, but here goes... First common interests, second physicality, third common values... You can love their personality and have such differing opinions that there are arguments over everything. You can be in agreement over everything and find yourself out bowling while she is out dancing (probably not the best scenario, might work for some), you can be great in bed but have nothing to offer each other later when the bedroom sizzle has faded (some). Translation: Good conversation, pretty eyes, common interests, nice ass, nice person, 'nuff said.
  • Mainly, I like a person who can keep things interesting, keep up with me, and make me laugh. There also has to be respect, consideration, and an ear or two to listen with. (and a nice butt)
  • I look for good humour, good groomimg, good reason, someone who weighs more than me (130) Someone who can dress himself, not metrosexual, and someone who is smart but not an intellectual snob. I'm these things and I can cook my ass off.LOL
  • Truthfullness, sincerity, a good sense of humor, and a quick smile. A joy for life..(most of the time), and goals that are close to mine, or that will blend with mine.
  • sMARTS, RATIONALITY, HUMOR AND A DEEP LINING.
  • honesty because if you get honesty the rest are included.
  • availability
  • I have one already, but be sure the mate of your choice values in you what you value in you. If you value your intellect, don't pick a mate that values your beauty rather than your intellect.
  • Kindness, loving, smart, and not an angry person.
  • care for others!
  • Love of children, animals and the environment ... anymore is a bonus ... If one cares not for either ... then what lays below, is not always good. Peace
  • It varies, but personality and the ability to laugh at oneself is important.
