A book entitled "Fatal Shore," it is a short history of how the colinization of Australia began, when Great Britian began exporting convicts there to work in retribution for their alleged crimes. It is a fascinating story. Look it up at your library. It is available in print, on audio tape, and maybe on CD by now.
