-
Not a big spam fan but I have eaten it. Although it has been a while need to fry some up.
-
Yes. god awful stuff!
-
yup, prepared in many different was! prefer it with sharp cheddar cheese and ritz crackers tho...
-
Yes I've eaten spam, not bad, my dad says it's a good bait for carp
-
I've used spam for carp fishing for years with excellent results. Oh and I've had it in my sandwiches whilst fishing as well.
-
Yes...and I'll never do it again! haha
-
Yes, I remember eating battered Spam for lunch when I was in junior school (aged 7-11).
-
I am lucky enough never to have eaten that junk. My mother always provided proper nutrition when I was groing up and I have leatned to develop an adversion to the stuff.
-
thankfully, no.
-
I do love me some spam!
-
Yes I have tried it. It just tastes ok.
-
Yeah I love its taste.
-
Yes I have, and I've made a nice dish with it, trying my hardest to make it really nice. Served it with pineapple and it wasn't bad....but it was still Spam:-)
-
We like the Turkey Spam best...the regular kind is not bad..it is available in a lower-salt, lower-fat version, which we have gotten a couple of times. You can pan-fry it and it makes pretty good sandwiches. It's a big thing in Hawaii..I believe more spam is used in Hawaii than anywhere else in the world! :)
-
yeppers. when I was younger I used to be very picky. One thing my mom knew I would eat... spam with baked beans and cheese.. *shudder*
-
it is well nice
-
cyndimh, I've eaten it and I don't care for it much. It's very salty, very 'hammy' tasting. It's personally a little too strong tasting for me. I haven't eaten it in years and probably won't ever eat it again, but if you've never tried it, you should at least give it a shot. It's not completely 'gross' or anything. It's just not for me.
-
Yes. It's HORRIBLE stuff!
-
Specially Prepared American Meat. I was brought up on it and loved it until I had a spell working as a Butcher and got the knowledge of meats......I wouldnt eat it now :o(
-
I like it and I am fond of it mostly mixed with other ingredients and cooked in recipes.
-
Once and it was so gross.
-
Nope, but I was surprised to see it on the McDonald's menu in Hawaii!
-
Yes, when I was a kid. My dad loves the stuff and he made me try it - UGH! too salty. FYI: It is popular in Hawaii because Hawaii was the staging ground for the Pacific front in World War II. Meat was rationed at the same time the US military presence increased. Spam was a regular part of military rations. In the can it never expires, and it doesn't require refrigeration. These qualities which were essential to the military also made Spam ideal for the tropical Hawaii climate in a time when refrigeration was not widespread or reliable. Soldiers were happy to trade thier Spam ration for delicious local food, and Hawaii people found out how good Spam is with rice. And in saimin. And fried crispy. And in any other way you can think of slicing it -and some others that are frankly unimaginable to the uninitiated.
-
Yeah I suppose back in the day, when I was eating processed foods. Hawaii is a big SPAM eater. They got used to it because they had no ice for keeping meat fresh and SPAM in the can last forever. It's great carving material. They have spam carving contests all over.
-
Spam is soooo yummy! =D
-
Yep. When I was a kid, my mom used to fry it up for lunch.
-
Tastes way better fried.
-
Well, I once had spam sausage spam spam bacon spam tomato and spam... Seriously though, spam is lovely : P

Mom used to make Spam (or Treet) Salad... cubes of the meant, lima beans, diced celery, diced sweet pickles, mayo, and a bit of sweet pickle juice... Mmmmm.
-
My Mom used to fry it chopped up with potatoes and onions...not actually that bad and the potatoes get salted from the spam!

-
Yes, I hate it, too salty for me..My husband loves it..If the economy keeps going in the toilet, I'll be eating it:)
-
I eat spam only if it's fried really good.
-
Yes, and in fact, it's one of the key ingredients for one of my favourite late night snacks, the Desperation Sandwich! (Toasted with red peppers, onions if you're rich enough to have some lol, and mustard.) It's named after a Stephen King novel I was reading at the time that I came up with it.
-
no never, are they good?
-
YES AND ITS GOOD, AS LONG AS YOU ONLY EAT IT ONCE IN A WHILE.
-
I've eaten it several times. :-)

Only culinary snobs haven't.
