My mom and I used to rescue dogs and cats, at one point we had 26 dogs and 14 cats. We since adopted them all out. My hubby and I adopted a cat after we got married. I had already had 2 dogs. We just bought a German Sheperd. So I guess mine are both!!

MUTTS-just like me
-
I have never had a purebred pet. All of mine have been 'throw aways'. :-)
-
Rescues! Always! Either because they 'find' me, or because I adopt them from my local animal rescue. Each and every one of them have been 'beautiful', whether they appear the way outwardly, or not, and every one of them has brought me infinite joy. :)

Brewster, my Chihuahua is a pure breed AND a rescue. My Mom's neighbor couldn't keep him because her little boy was hurting him and she had to move out of her apartment, so she gave him to me instead of taking him to the pound. My two cats are rescues too.
-
Neither, they are just mogs.
-
My cat's mixed breed but i still love him
-
All 3 are rescues. All adopted from my local shelter. Margo is a Lab/Pit, Samson is a Rotty/shepherd, and Bailey is a Jack Russell/Rat Terrier. All are 3 and under. Love 'em all to pieces.

I have one mix, (dane and bull mastiff). I have to full great danes and I got them both from rescue. I have a full beagle also, she was from my ex-husband's dogs, and the only surviving one from the litter and my daughter HAD to have her! I also had another full dane that passed away less than a year ago that was also from rescue.

my animals are all from the shelter.... i have one that is abyssinian and one that is siamese but neither are "show quality".. the two others are domestic short haired cats
-
Both. My dogs and cats and several of my chickens are rescues. A few of my chickens are purebreeds but I don't tell them...nobody likes an uppity chicken.
-
My belle is a pure breed chihuahua
-
Both. My dog was supose to spend his life as a breading stud. But he is to big for his bread so the breader gave him to us. He doesn't get to do "it" any more but I think he has a much better life living with a family who love the little sweety.

My dog, Daisy came from a dog that showed up at my aunt's house. She had a litter of puppies and we adopted one as our own. She is a rat terrier mix. My cat, Fluffy, is a regular tabby cat.
-
She's the offspring of a rescue. I helped deliver her, so I've had her since birth.
-
purebreed pet rescue

my two pets, my Avatars, were both rescued from the streets.

My last dog (Ben) who died over the summer was AKC registered and pure, but I adopted him when his owners had to move and give him up. My current boys are rescues. Ducky is supposedly a Cocker Spaniel (like Ben). I think he is part Cocker and Part King Charles, he's adorable. Oscar is a "designer" breed, Cockapoo. Like it matters. . .I just love 'em.

My present dog has been rescued from an abusive owner.

I've had both...one of my dogs is a "purebred" labradoodle and I have a Bassett Hound I rescued. I've also rescued a few cats and found good homes for them and I rescued a Chow/Lab mix that my mother-in-law has and I have a purebred Chow Chow that my parents kept when I moved out because he was too aggressive to be around too many other people.

Both of our dogs (which I let my ex-wife keep in the divorce) are rescues. One is a pure-bred beagle, the other is a mutt. We love them both dearly...:-D... . .
-
I currently have a pure breed yorkshire terrier. But a few years ago 2 dogs just randomly stopped by my moms house and we just started taking care of them. There is one that is still alive and he about 6yrs old and you could tell that he was abused. He is a pure breed Chow and he tail had been broken several times. Now he has really bad arthritis and it hurts him to stand up or sit down. But he loves to play!

My cats were adopted through the local Humane Society. My daughter's dog is a purebred.
-
I rescued her from a local pet store. She was the odd pup from her litter. A private owner gave them to the pet store for sale, and all of her siblings were sold. She was about 6 months old and no one wanted her. They were taking her to be euthanised when I walked in and saw her. The owner of the store was so grateful that they gave her to me for free along with free food, a bed, some toys, pig ears, collar, and shampoo. She was the best thing that ever happened to us.
