They will be brainwashed with their own ideology which would demonise the West. The West may have more freedoms, to consume, but outsiders may see this as materialistic, competitive, damaging to the family and society as a whole. In communist like communities, they are brought up with the idea of everyone as a whole over individuality. Dictatorships exist in capitalist society too, its not exclusive to communist, especially if the voting system is an allusion of choice, and only there to divide people causing necessary conflict in order to distract from how much they are getting screwed over. Look at the hegelian dialectic.
