Since you asked, "what show do you think it was", I'm guessing: 40s. However: I can remember the 60s. I remember a McDonald's commercial from when I was a child. "Feed a family of four for $5 and get back change." Of course the meal consisted of a regular hamburger, small fries and a small drink x 4...but that would have been an acceptably-sized lunch for many Americans at that time. *** It's not only prices that have risen. Our appetites have also increased, on average, considerably over the last 60 years. It can be seen in things like: *** the change from 6 or 7 oz soft drink bottles to 12 oz cans to 16.9 oz bottles *** the addition of super-size fries to the classic small and large sizes *** the introduction of the double whopper (1997) *** etc etc (not just fast food, but perhaps most noticeable in fast food, where there are few menu items and new items are more noticeable).

Army VeteranConsidering the ad included fries for.25, it's a safe bet that it was a fast-food advertisement. Judging by the price and the fact that they were calling it "a complete dinner", I would say that it was in the early days of the fast-food franchise - 50s or 60s should put it in the neighborhood - maybe a little earlier.

www.bible-reviews.comI went back to the 40s because 40s TV typically the ad was ***part of the show*** - as opposed to later TV where the ads were distinct from the show (though still, in the 60s, occasionally distinct ads would air during a show and feature characters from that show, such as the many Winston cigarette commercials starring characters from The Flintstones).
