How do we not have giant platypus farms yet?
I mean, gene splicing has been pretty much perfected. Splice a platypus with a cow and a chicken, and you'd have a domesticatable animal that provides delicious milk and also lays edible eggs. (As the platypus is, naturally, though, you cannot eat their eggs, and they have no nipples nor udders, so milking is difficult, plus they are rather small and, since they are solitary animals, difficult to domesticate anyway).

Interesting idea. For domesticated animals, don't they have to have certain characteristics such as Fast growth rate for farmers, can be raised in groups, low fear and Low fear and aggression.

Cool! Maybe I'll fire up a kickstarter campaign and see if anyone throws me a couple of million to build the gene modifying lab and hire security to keep PITA from bombing me. LOL -
