All it might take could be "A few words from a woman!" Years ago I was chatting to a friend of mine during lunch when she said "Do you know? if you were a few pounds lighter and perhaps a little fitter I just might even fancy you myself!" Within three weeks I had joined a gym, purchased a bicycle and was on a fitness campaign!In fact it went so far that I would park my Lotus supercar in a carpark in Woolwich, I would get the bicycle out of the boot and cycle to work at the hospital in Denmark hill in London. It did cost me a heap, I soon needed new clothes because my old ones were soon almost hanging off me! After a month my blood pressure had dropped and I was feeling on top of the world. Then I found out that the woman who had set me off on my mission had just got married to an overweight doctor from my hospital who was aged about sixty! But as the old saying goes "one man's loss is anothers gain." and many younger nurses at our hospital soon started to ask me out for lunch! I have now sold both the Lotus and the bicycle and in most cases I now use the bus. I was on the 197 bus just the other day when a woman aged about seventy squezzed my buttock and then she smiled at me and said "I bet I could bring a smile to your face!"

Just plain, old personal pride, mostly in terms of personal appearance, a sense of controlled moderation and achievement.
