I really miss ec-nal (I know he's here somewhere), Jodie and especially Symbeline. She is on hiatus :( Oh! I also miss WVP. She signed off in November and never came back. Very odd for her. She loves it here!

Yes I certainly do miss many of my old friends on Answerbag. Except for a small group the scenery seems to have changed completely. Sometimes I feel as if I do not know anyone. Even after only a month away this time.

Oh yes and very much so.. my partner in real life was an AB'er at one point..we got into this together.. the powers that be have banned him from the site now and in retrospect,,thats a good thing.. I find AB a bitter sweet experience when it comes to the friends you make.. not all are what they seem..but yet others really are amazing people..

I haven't been here long enough to know some that others have listed. I do miss Chris (Captain Kirk). I loved the detailed answers he could give on space science.

Yes, quite a few of them. Some are just not active on AB anymore, and I do keep in touch via email occasionally, but a few seem to have dropped off the face of the earth and I fear the worst (where are you, CuriousFrank?).

Every day I seem to think of more missing ABers. So many just stop logging on. I miss many of my AB friends. If I decide to leave now, it would be easier because it seems like most of my friends have already left or rarely are active.

They come they go they stay they leave they return under different names. Here's what I think..if they leave of their own volition and have not been driven away by others or circumstances beyond their control, that means they're done with us and they're ready to move on. I don't miss them because they've already left us before they left us in their attitude, their demeanor, their grace or lack thereof. The ones I miss are those who were forced out..not for doing something for which they were punished, but for being hounded by others and finally gave up and left. One gal, kitten, was among my favorites. Her boss took the internet away from the employees and she didn't have a computer at home so she is lost to us. :) I miss her very much! :)

(ong answer .. got carried away) Yes. I'm not even "an old timer". Still within my first year here. But already have a list ... AndyNinja - Sweet T - BSweet (who checked in briefly this past week - HURRAY) .... And all the "smaller absenses" of folks leaving "for awhile" then come back .. like Sm00z or you, Sixty or or or or ... I read some of the other answers and let me chime in that the name change thing is insane. Can barely keep up as it is. I go along with the "creepy" factor. I want to know who I'm speaking with .. and if we've got history .. not think I'm just meeting a new person!! But of course, this cuts also to the question "What is AB?" To me, the "community" aspect is as important as the information, support, entertainment .. held in the questions, answers & comments. Whenever a new person arrives and rises fast, I always wonder "who is that" .. and just "assume" it's someone coming back .. new name. But that's ok. Just take them at face value ... interact .. and if it's good ... it's all good. But again, if I knew them before yet they don't choose to tell me? That's sort of creepy!! Or, they just didn't value "me" very much (to let me in on it)? Also not a great thought!! So I block those thoughts and just roll with it .. taking it one person at a time. If it's working .. nicer to just run with it .. as is. Meanwhile, I just roll along .. one account .. one name .. for good or ill .. here I am. :) Many friends I've come to "look for" each day and would surely miss if they weren't here. Flip side, I hope if I did an exit, stage left that someone would miss me! I'm not very flip about it all, I guess. I like a genuine spirit of give and take .. a sense of personalities beneath the avatars .. the joy of seeing friends .. knowing now some of what we have in common .. even what we don't .. part of what makes the whole deal ., AB ., go round for me. On any day that I'm feeling "not so good" about AB? You can bet it's a day I'm feeling a "disconnect" from others. So take a break time or time to go do some random acts. Makes life better. :)

Yes, she was a very good friend on the Old AB. We talked and shared much of our lives over about 5 or 6 years. She was gone for awhile then after a couple of months she was back and told me she had cancer. We continued to talk and email. Then her cancer came back and she was gone for a few months. she came back a second time. Then she was gone again. I have not heard from her in about 2 years now. I think she is gone the cancer taking her. She lived on Statten Island. I miss her very much.
