  • The duties of the Board of Trustees should be spelled out in the Covenants & restrictions, Declarations and/or the By-Laws of the Condo Association. Generally, the Trustees will call a meeting of the members at least once a year, and will hold Board meetings where they may vote and take action on matters related to the Association (for example , but not limited to: authorizing major repairs, hiring professional services, setting the annual assessments and the projected budget). An individual Trustee could be sued by a unit owner for violating privacy rules or making false claims about a member. Generally, the Association will have Directors & Officers insurance (D&O) to cover such liability claims.
