I have a 25 lbs Silver Maine Coon named Smee and my husband has an 18 lbs. domestic black & white named Smudge. They are our Water Babies. We found our Maine Coon during tropical storm Allison. He was swimming in our yard. We just happened to be coming home from a trip and I heard him crying. The poor baby was no more than 4 weeks old and looked like a drowned rat. I brought him into the house, dried him and didn't let him go all night. We named him Smee after Captain Hook's first mate. Smee weighed 15 lbs by six months and he wasn’t fat. We call him “boneless” Smee because when you try to pick him up he becomes a rag doll and goes completely limp. This makes him seem like he weighs more “dead weight”. He is the most loveable laid-back cat I’ve ever met and he’s not shy around strangers. I picked up Smudge at the animal hospital. Someone dumped him at our back door in a cardboard box with a plastic kennel inside during a bad rainstorm. One of the other nurses noticed the box and we went to investigate. People were always dropping off orphan animals or animals that they couldn’t afford to take care of and hoped that we would either euthanize or treat them. Anyway, I guess Smudge’s previous owners thought they were doing him a favor by putting him in the box but they didn’t take into account that a well sealed box will collect water. Smudge almost drowned, other than that, he was a perfectly healthy neutered male. He drools when he’s happy. He’s a lot like Smee in that he is also perfectly laid back and easy with strangers. My husband fell in love with Smudge and asked if we could keep him. Smee and Smudge are great friends and wonderful companions. They even have their own theme songs. Smee-Man (He-Man’s theme song) and Flash Gordon’s theme song for Smudge.

Yes. His name is Plato and he's about ten. I got him at a shelter called "House of Mews" in Memphis when he was six. I hadn't planned on getting an older cat, but apparently, that older cat had a different idea. He walked right up to me and meowed, "Where have you BEEN? I've been waiting for you forever." Then he jumped up in my lap and that, as they say, was that. Now Plato is my best buddy.

I have 12 cats, but I'll only talk about three. Cosmo is a gray tabby with orange flacks here and there(like on the tip of his tail), and huge eyes. Wanda is like Cosmo, except slightly less weird, she has big ears instead of eyes, and she doesn't like kisses. She loves to do summer saults, though. Tasha is a siamese mix, but she is fluffy and has gray tips instead of brown. Tasha is pure evil, and loves: sitting on our bible, carrying around a baloon and a red stuffed pug, walking across out piano, and btiing us for random reasons.

We have five cats. Arlo (a Maine Coon mix), Zuzu (a Siamese), Shelby (a muted Calico), Sammy (an orange tabby) and Buddy (a tuxedo kitty). We've got two Persian females,spayed. They're adorable, but high maintenance. Long fur must be brushed daily or will get tangled and matted. Eyes have to be carefully wiped near the little noses (vet says this breed has inadequate tear ducts). Angel (black) and Simba (grey). Sorry I don't have pictures to show you right now. :-D +2

I had her for over 15 years and just put her down 4 days ago. She had the softest most remarkable bunny fur. I'll miss her forever.

I have one cat - Misha - that I adopted from the humane society a year and a half ago. At the time, she was 4 years old and her name was Tinker. She is grey and cream colored, with long fur and lynx points. She has a ruff and britches and big blue eyes. I fell in love with her picture online and went to meet her the following day. She was really timid at first, but she was so beautiful it didn't matter. Now that she's part of the family, she's not timid at all! She's pretty big - about 14 lbs. and a little overweight, even though I feed her indoor (hairball and weight control) cat food. She stays strictly indoors because she was front declawed before I adopted her. She loves to be brushed and isn't shy about making her wants known. I brush her at least once (usually twice) a day and more on weekends. She loves the family. She greets us at the door when we come home, and when she notices that someone is "missing," she'll lead me into their bedroom and meow. She also comes when I call her name, and I always reward her by petting her, brushing her, or giving her the occasional treat.
