He wants you naked, denuded of it when you try to go knocking on the gates of heaven, saying "knock-knock," (who's there?) "a guy without a soul trying to party-bash the biggest fiesta ever." According to the ancient stories, I suppose the devil is just using us in the ancient feud he holds against God, as an evicted angel. He wants, like a spoiled child, always to show God that he "does tooooooooo" have power amongst men walking the globe. It is the oldest parlor trick in the world. Each soul is one more child that God isn't reunited with. This is one respect in which Satan can hurt God. Satan has quite the vendetta against God. The problem I think with the other answers is the asumption that the devil likes to punish his guests. Again, please correct me if you know otherwise, but I think God created hell and Satan just stays there as punishment for rebellion. After all, acting upon anger has always been one of God's hobbies.

Anyone who knows a collector knows what they are like. They collect because they do. I think the Devil may be OCD and I think most collectors are. What could he possibly want with them? Collectors like to keep their collectables and have them valued and display them, sometimes devoting half their house to it. Then they like to go on TV shows about 'collectors' and display all their stuff and tell how they got into collecting and how they spent so much time doing it and how wonderful their husband/wife is for letting them etc...be the same with the Devil...once the collecting bug bites they just gotta!

For them to die forever in the tormenting lake of fire so that he won't burn and suffer alone, and so he can get some revenge on God, when God sentences him there on Judgement Day. He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for us humans so that our sins could be paid for by His death and blood atonement rather than us dying and going to the lake of fire forever. 3 days later, God rose His Son Jesus from the dead and He later ascended to God's right hand and is coming back very soon. The devil is terrifyed of the Lord Jesus Christ because He is the One who created him and has power over him. I have no clue, as I've never heard a precise and concrete definition of the word soul aside from a substitute or standstill word which may be used to describe the intricacies of the mind and awareness that we don't understand but live with every day. But one suggestion is that the Devil will use these souls on the Apocalypse to ''elevate'' Himself up to Heaven in order to fight God. So, I'm not sure which specific Christian belief this comes from, someone tell me if they know, but it would seem us humans will be responsible for the outcome of Judgement Day. Well, my idea is that neither the devil nor god collect souls. SOuls are judged and then sent to either heaven or hell. Hell is controlled by the Devil, he is the one in charge of punishing the souls sent there until they are let out, kind of like being in jail, except much worse. God is in charge of heaven, and looks after the souls residing here.
