My 15 week old pitbull puppy is usually calm but when he gets too excited he bites, growls and snarls, and it is very hard to get control and my daughter is now afraid of him. How do we get him to stop this behavior?

There is a 2 1/2 year Goldendoodle that the family wants to give away because the dog bared his teeth and growled at an 11-year old boy who was visiting their children. The adults did not see this incident. I would love to get this dog,but I'm worried.
