What do you think about these children with parents who get them put on mental health medications ?

They'll probably end up being drug addicts. Most of the children I grew up which suposedly had ADHD and were on ritalin ended up junkies. Most people on mental health drugs take them forever. Don't be surprised when these children end up junkies. Why would a parent do such things to their child I cant understand.

You're blaming the wrong person. Parents don't write prescriptions. Doctors do. And its usually the schools that insist on medication. That's where the evaluations came from with my son and grandson. And in response to stevo, my son never had an issue with illegal drugs. Don't know about my grandson. However, this is A PERSONAL CHOICE not a predetermined side effect of the medication. But it did help with their behavior at school and is the reason I caved on the issue. Perhaps the parents are just trying to do what's best for their children based on the suggestions of so called experts on the subject.

I think MORE kids should be put on mental health meds. Its usually the ones that need psychological care that tend to do the school shooting thing. And the bullying, racism, shoplifting, illegal drugs, rioting, petty crime and just plain disrupting class. Its not fair to the students trying to learn to have to put with the disruptions.
