  • Techincally there have only been 43 presidents of the US. How you ask when they refer to Obama as number 44? Because Grover Cleveland was elected 2 times each to a single non consecutive term. He was the only President in U.S. History to have this happen. He was first elected in 1884 and then again in 1892. George Washington John Adams Thomas Jefferson James Madison James Monroe Another piece of interesting Presidential Trivia. In the entire 221 year history of the U.S. Presidency there have only been 2 Father and son teams elected President. First was John Adams in 1795 Then his son John Quincy Adams was elected in 1824. After them it wouldn't happen afain for near 200 years with George HW Bush first in 1988. Then GW Bush in 2000.
