They all passed before I was born. (And that's three granddads. ^_^ One from my mother, two from my father - he was orphaned and adopted.)

Yes, although I was quite young at the time, and never got to know him. Perhaps it was a blessing so that it didn't effect me too much growing up since I also lost my grandmother and my parents divorced. Seems as if I was oblivious to everything going on around me until a year or two ago.

I was actually lucky enough to have grown up with my grandparents and great grandparents ! My great grandpa passed when I was 19 and grandma followed 3 years later :(

One died when I was young, and the other one I never knew, as he came back from the war with problems, and one day walked out and never returned, long before I was born.

I never knew either of my grandfathers. My dad was born in 1917 so that makes his dad born in the 1800's. I wasn't born till the 60's. I have no idea bout my mothers father. No one ever talked about him.
