no, i don't believe so...

i remember my 3rd grade teacher insisted that the civil war was about state's rights. i told her that it was because we hadn't addressed slavery when we wrote the constitution (i was a precocious sob). i still think i'm right although her answer was PC and, within one year of the MLK assassination, i guess i appreciate why she felt compelled to stick to her guns.

More then they'd ever admit Shall I list for you, Sir, where they were wrong, or will you take my word for it?
-
No, for the most part they were usually right on.
-
Not usually, though they were usually humble about it. Also, my teachers weren't evolutionists.
-
Most of them were sometimes wrong.
-
I thought they were, but I later found out that they were correct all along, especially when it came to evolution and the history of the human species.
-
not often, but sometimes yes :) makes me feel kinda good when a students tells the teacher the correct answer ;)
-
Sometimes, not often. Pronunciation was their usual mistake.
-
Well i didnt agree too much with my english teacher, so i thought she was wrong alot...
-
Very seldom. Our science teacher sometimes said that were were getting ahead of him with our questions. Which showed he studied along us when he prepared his daily lessons. That was a good trait. I met him last week-end. He is now 80.
-
not often really... but every time i felt that they were i was the first to blurt out a comedic tell
-
I've proved them wrong, but not often.
-
Yes. Many times... =]
-
Very rarely were they ever wrong in their chosen subjects, but many of them were sorely lacking in teacher-child relations. Ugh!
-
I had a french teacher that came from Togo and he was so bad at teaching! He wouldn't explain things properly and he always lost assignments. Also, he tried to teach social studies and completely failed us, seeing as we all basically failed the provincial exam.
-
Yes my 7th grade geography teacher said Antartica floats on the water and dolphins swim under it. (??)
-
Not often, but god did I enjoy it when they were.
-
Not on every topic obviously, however they were very slow.
-
Since I was a C student yet am never wrong then yes the teachers were wrong 20-30% of the time.
-
Very rarely. The only specific memory I have of a teacher being wrong was when Ms. Smith said that the next major number after a trillion was a zillion. :p I somehow knew that was wrong and I found out from my dad that the next one was a quadrillion.
-
Very seldom - and when they were, it was nothing major.
-
I know one of my teachers had a bad habit of stating urban legend as fact, and many years later I realized that a lot of what he taught us about world history was complete bullshit. I never held it against him though, he was a great guy and a good teacher regardless.

Such a timely question!! I'm reading a book by James Loewen titled, "Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Textbook Got Wrong", and most surprisingly, it's a National Bestseller! Every teacher, lover of history and every citizen should read this book! What a Protestant, Manifest Destiny, Hero/Terrorist (depending on which side of his-story your people happened to line up) pile of propaganda we've been sold. Proof that those that control the present control the past.
-
Not often, But sometimes. The better ones always admitted it and I respected that.
-
All of them were. All of them actually said that I had a bright future ahead of me. I disagreed and look who's laughing now, LOL.
-
Very often

Yeah, my second grade teacher didn't know yogurt was a dairy product so I had to bring yogurt in and show her that the first ingredient was milk.
