  • Dangerous ANd, as far as I'm aware, illegal. You want this fashion statement to be like a sheep - part of the crowd. Why not do something different from all yur mates and have no piercings or tattoos. That'll shock them.
  • From CBSNEWS.com A mother whose daughter nearly died from an infection caused by a bellybutton piercing was convicted Tuesday of endangering the girl's life by failing to seek medical attention until the teenager was gravely ill. Prosecutors said Robinson watched for several weeks as her 13-year-old daughter dropped from 115 pounds to 75 pounds, became incontinent and grew so weak that she could not get off the couch. When paramedics arrived at the family's apartment in 2005, the girl was emaciated and was wearing an adult diaper.
  • yes, if the piercing was not done properly by a specialist and under hygenic conditions
  • It can be dangerous, no matter the age. If someone really wants it done, they need to do some research. Look for a clean, professional place that will be detailed in explaining proper care and hygiene, and inform you of the warning signs of infection. By the way, it is illegal to get any form of piercing at that age without signed parental consent, though some places may require your parent be with you.
  • Well I am not sure, because I got my monroe pierced when I was 12, but I am 13 now and I have my navel done, but it really depends on if your stil growing because if your still growing then you can have some problems when your older, because as you grow your skin stretches and your piercing could rotate, and you can have some problems, but my piercings are fine, so it really just depends.
  • Only if her parents find out.
  • I did mine by myself it did not hurt at all
  • are you serious? most of my friends have them but i will never resort to it. sometimes these things can get infected if not treated professinally. just be careful.
  • it will most likely hurt but many things in life hurt and are worth it. you should really wait until you are done growing though so that the placement doesn't change.
  • Yes, it will hurt. The amount that it hurts depends upon your pain tolerance. It is slightly more painful than getting a shot or getting your ears pierced. I'm concerned about your age, though. Many reputable body piercers will not pierce someone your age. Laws require parental permission. PLEASE make sure that you are going to a reputable body piercer.
  • well i got mine wen i was fourteen and i dont think it hurt very much at all. it hurt the same as my ears really. i think the best thing to do is wait until your a tiny bit older so u dont have any complications.
  • When did shrapnel become a fashion acessory?
  • It hurts a lil and it hurts a lil more than a shot. But it just hurts right when its done and then its just a lil sore. Then only thing bad about you being so young is that you're probably still growing and that can cause probablys because when you grow with the piercing in it can grow out and not look right. Some places wont pierce that young because of that.
  • im 12 and i turn 13 in like 2 wks and i got mine done 4 days ago and it doesnt hurt the only thing that hurts is when he puts a clamp on ur stomach and then tilt u all the way back but thats only if ur really skinny like me and u dont have much fat

  • I got mine done when I was 12, I think the more you want a piercing the less it will hurt. It didn't hurt at all for me! But I didn't clean it for a logn time and it hurt like a mother fucking bitch. It's fine, Just make sure you take good care of it!
  • Hiya! I was 13 when i had my belly button pierced and i can honestly say, i didnt feel a thing! The only time i felt a slight sting was when i was cleaning it! Let us kno how u get on!!
  • I'm 12 and mine is pierced!!!! It didnt hurt at all!
  • When I got mine done it wasn't too bad at all! I was quite worried about it and thought it would hurt more than it did! I found that the clamp hurt more than the actual piercing. But it only takes a minute!
  • Mhmm...just think about it! A needle going through your belly...not gunna feel GOOD..but it WILL look pretty after!
  • Mine didnt hurt at all honestly...My friends and family were amazed that i didnt even flinch lol I had my done when i was 13...:]
  • umm No Its like butterfly kisses duh and you better hope it don't get infected because that hurts worse it gets green and smells bad I have had three ppl I know get infected just say no stick with ear piercings it really look nasty when you get an infected belly button
  • hi im 13 my mom said i could get it done but where i live in pittsburgh pennsylvania help me find a place i wanted mine done for years...............
  • It's nothing, and it only takes a second. You can stand it for that long, I'm sure.
  • i want mine done but i don't have my period and i am 12 and my mom is willing to let me get it done but every where i have gone say i HAVE to be fifteen do i just tell them i am done growing or what cuz i really want it will i keep growing or what
  • Dangerous and stupid. 12 years old is way too young for piercings of that nature. :
  • Until dad finds out, no yo...
  • There's no need to get your belly button pierced at 12. wait a few years....if you STILL want it done then do. you might decide you don't want it so much after all. what makes you want it done so bad?
  • I would say that a 12 year old is still going to grow - so yes, adding a piercing in a place that can stretch and grow is a very bad idea and therefore dangerous. Some piercing places will pierce young children as long as their parents are there - but I highly doubt that they will pierce a child's navel. Perhaps, if your parents agree, you can go to a professional piercer and see what they think.
  • Yes, it can be. A person your age is not finished growing, and aftercare for a navel piercing will continue for a year or more. Also, you need to leave the plain ring or barbell in place during the entire healing period. Some people of your age group will not stick with the aftercare until healing is complete.
  • im 12 too and i am getting mine done in june. tbqh, its a risk im willing to take.. not to be cool at school or whatever, just because both my mam and i have agreed that its my body and have piercings as the holes will nearly always close up but i have to be over 21 to have a tattoo says my mum. i think thats a fair game tbh. :) go for it.
  • Only if she gets run over in the stampede to the body piercing shop by another sheep.
  • Not anymore than your ears...
  • Hasn't this been asked before?
  • No, you can have the area frozen to reduce the pain, although it is not needed, i had mine done 8 yrs ago
  • Yes it hurts, but not bad enough that I didn't have it done twice.
  • i just got mine done 4 days ago and it hurts for like five seconds...but it wasent horrible pain it felt like a pinch
  • No, not if they take care of it. Piercings have a bad rap for getting infected and scarring, but if you go to a decent tattoo shop and ask to see their sterilization equipment and IF YOU TAKE CARE OF IT PROPERLY! It will not get infected. The piercer will tell you what to do, do not disregard their demands they know what they are talking about.
  • no prob at all wont hurt £40
  • from what i have heard the maine reason it is dangerous because you are still growing and if your stomach grows it will get out of place and look weird and may even fall out. i mean i want mine done to and i am also 12. but i mean it is our body and we are the ones that have to deal with it and if it falls out then we could always wait another year or to and then get it re-done. so i say GO FOR IT if you can find someone that will do it.
  • I wouldn't recommend it.
  • Yes, I would say it is.
