The beach. I know it could be prone to tsunamis, but disasters are more common up in the mountains. I would also like to build a beach resort.
-
Give me a beach and I'd be happy forever.
-
On the beach.
-
Love the beach life, could live it everyday, gets to cold in the mountains.
-
i don't think that i could survive in either the mts. prob give me too many nose bleeds and i don't want to be wiped out by a tidal wave, hurricane,or evil sea creature that can walk on land
-
I'd rather live in the mountains, surrounded by trees and wild animals. My dream is to move to Alaska and live in a "little cabin in the woods".
-
Mountains. I like goats.
-
The beach is nice but I love nature and I'd rather be surrounded by the good old mountains. Besides, I don't like jellyfish :/
-
As long as it's not in a hurricane zone, the beach.
-
I always thought about moving to the Alps anyways, I think I would love it.
-
I'd rather live in a beach near a tall mountain, something like New Zealand or the Sierra nevada de Santa marta in Colombia. The best of both worlds!
-
Beach, mountains are boring. Give me a relaxing beach any day!
-
I’d rather live on the beach since it’s warmer than the mountains but I don’t think I could survive living on the beach, so I’d pick the mountains.
-
By the Ocean... on a mountain with a beautiful sunset view.
-
ocean because I don't want to feel closed in
-
I live by both, and its amazing. =)
-
By the ocean the scenery is HOT! Sexy people in very little clothing!
-
I am "adapted" to the mountains, but I love both. I could live near either, I think.
-
Hmmmm bikinis or parkas. :) I'm loving the ocean.
-
I want to live near the ocean and have a log cabin in the mountains
-
Why do you have to give me such difficult choices? I wish I could live by both the ocean and the mountains. So my choice would be by the mountains overlooking the ocean.
-
mountains, I have lived in the mountains before.. loved it.
-
Oceans if I'm not in a hurricane zone, and mountains if I'm not in the snow belt.
-
Mountains.
-
Mountains....only because the ocean scares the hell outta me.
-
I DO live by the ocean ans would not trade places if I have any say in it.
-
I love the mountains and I think they are very beautiful But I live on the beach for the same reason.
-
Born, I was, in the mountains and now I live by the sea! Love the climate. 2500 hours of sunshine per year and the air quality is second to none. Sandy beaches for miles, I adore it. BTW, no hurricane here in 10 years.
-
ocean!! surfing yay !
-
i liked the mountains, i used to live in them when i was in resorts
-
Mountains. It's quiet. When I was in the Navy I was stationed on a small island in the Indian Ocean for the better part of a year. It was approximately a mile wide at it widest point. Sand, heat and humidity. Crabs, ants and flies everywhere. The relentless crashing of the waves was maddening. If I never see another cocoanut then so be it.

Depends on which beach or mountains. I'm not a fan of the heat so I'd go with the cooler option.
-
the beach but watch out for land erosion not too close to the water.Sand flys and Mosquitoes is why I moved away from the water and I get sea sick now so I don't go boating much anymore.
-
I hate sand, I'd probably rather live in a tunnel.
-
beach
-
BEACH!! I'll take an ocean or sea view any day over mountains!
-
Beach if a sheltered bay rather than a storm prone rocky outcrop.
-
beach
-
Id say the beach until last year I tried moving there the sand flys and mosquitoes eat me alive. I currently live in a valley. Ill try up the mountain next move
-
Beach life is too inconsistent - too seasonal. You either have so many people that it's difficult to move around or so few that you can drive for miles and not meet up with anyone. This contrast in population plays havoc on the local economy. Then you have beach erosion when the storm season comes along - also a player in the summer tourist trade. The mountains, on the other hand, leave little surprises - you know what you're getting into. I prefer the seclusion of the mountains, although my family has been beach dwellers for more than a hundred and fifty years.
-
I already live in the mountains. As for the beach, ask me when Omicron passes. ๐

You'll still be hunkering down hiding from the next variant that "comes along". Face it - you might as well become one of the Mole People.

-
Up in the mountains!
-
live near the beach not on it.....
-
What you get on the beach: hurricanes. Dead fish. Very unpleasant smells for weeks at a time. In many places: bunches of people, including frequent criminals (who might think it easy to break into your home undetected). What you get in the mountains: fresh air. unless your in Cali or some similar earthquake zone, the worst thing that might happen is snow. I'll choose the mountains.
-
I like to try the mountain because Iโm tired of the life of the city. I donโt have to deal with neighbors
-
beach 4 me
-
My house was built into a mountain and now I live at the Jersey Shore.
-
You can have both in Maine. The beaches are not as wide open and big. And the water is so cold even in the middle of July that I didn't want to go in it. I live on "Red Mountain" now, but its city life. and we're only up about 600-700 ft. Our apartment complex is professionally landscaped and its beautiful. We have a pool and a large grilling picnic area. But if I were healthy I could walk to groceries and several restaurants and shopping centers. And the city bus stops at the bottom of the hill. The closest beach is a couple of hours away, and its 'just the gulf' but a really big beach at that!! Unfortunately my choices at this stage in my life are governed more by how close to the hospital I live. I was texting a friend the other day and she sent me a pic of the beach she was playing on. I said soak it up, sistah, its not easy pushing a rolator on the beach!

You can keep the entire New England area. The scenery is great...there's nothing better - until you start dealing with the residents. I've been through there a number of times and I've determined that any person who sounds like Norm Abram doesn't want you there. They're a most unfriendly bunch of people.

I've lived on the beach and have family still living there. I love it, but I think I'd have to go with the mountains if I had to make a choice - but it would have to be the Appalachians and no farther north or south than the Shenandoah or Blue Ridge regions. Alaska (as was mentioned by someone) is too cold. I've experienced - 40 degrees and I prefer not to live like that. A lot of people like the Rockies, but they're too "cold" and uninviting in my opinion. They're nice to visit (and you can still get cheap land out that way), but I prefer the lush greenery of the Appalachians where the sweet scent of corn permeates the air in the summer and fall. ๐
