How do think art should be priced? And do you find it helps to know the process - as in how much work went into the piece - to justify the expense?

Money ruins art. So artists should get paid for time -say £5/$10 an hour - and cost of materials.

I believe the art should be valued at whatever we are willing to pay for it, kind of how it is now! If someone has a Da Vinci they want to sell, let them auction it and get 30 million for it, so what if he only spent 3 hours painting it! Its a simple economic problem of supply and demand.

Art is priceless. But the artists should have something to eat... Art doesn't need justification. Take it or leave it.

Art is like anything else. Its market value is determined by what people are willing to pay for it.
