As in legally shot and kill home invaders. If someone was trying to push there way thru your front door are you allowed to beat them?

2/27/2026, many American states allow a person to stand their ground. Although Texas highly encourages the stand-your-ground law. It gives Texans the right to defend themselves, use full force or deadly force without retreating.

Texas, Florida, Arizona, and Oklahoma are usually considered the strongest home‑defense states. All four have Stand‑Your‑Ground, strong Castle Doctrine protections, and civil immunity if the shooting is ruled justified. Texas in particular is known for very broad homeowner protections. OK calls theirs "Make my day" law.
