  • Depends. Nurse practitioner's generally spend more time with their patients and will provide more information. So, if I need a diagnosis...Doctor. Of I need information and preventive care...NP
  • At the VA hospital we usually see the practitioner first they consult with the Primary Care doctor and the doctor may or may not see you at all. But they will be the one to put the orders, referrals or prescriptions into the computer. Since covid I've only had phone visits with my primary care. I've had a video visit with my radiation oncologist. And it was probably a practitioner who saw me in wound care last week. Since being in the military I pretty much do what they tell me and be thankful for them.
