Do you get anxiety over pending diagnostic medical procedures?
I don't usually, but I'm getting another ultrasound to check the status of my cyst and I'm a little anxious. Not nearly as anxious as when they told me when I got my first mamogram I'd have to come back for closeups of Ms. Right. But my mother died from cancer that started in her breast and I hadn't taught my son everything he needed to know! That was a long time ago! I'm ready to die now. So that's not the source of my anxiety. There may be a biopsy involved and this time I'll refuse to do it if they don't give me anesthesia! So that's not the source of my anxiety either. Its the not knowing what comes next. I'm tired and I want to go home! Unfortunately, apparently God's not done with me yet! I know this thing in my gut isn't bad enough to kill me just another experience for me to endure for the lessons to be learned so I can help others through the same thing.

You know, this site is great, but the ads cover up most of your topic. I'll try and answer to the best of my ability. Well, I think it's perfectly normal for anyone to be a little nervous about upcoming medical procedures, it doesn't mean that these things shouldn't happen. In fact, our brains think about something that's coming up that we might dread, and actually tries it's best to prep you for it. Just look ahead, and try to not think about the operation, think about the good that might come of it, or the help or treatment that may save your life or dismiss something that may be weighing you down. Linda Joy Don't you have to have a prescription for that?! I don't need Xanax, Thank you. I get my meds from the VA. I used to use hydroxyzine when I was in the homeless shelter, but I haven't needed it since I got my apartment.

Ultrasound results for those who are curious: Cyst has gone from 8 to 6 cm, hyperplasia is unchanged. Will have the results of my labs and a new plan of action next week. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes! I wish you all good health!
