A) Some say Black Friday first originated in 1869, and was initially used to describe the financial crisis after the US stock market crashed. B) Others say the police in Philadelphia in the 1950's-1960's began referring to the day after Thanksgiving, a dark day caused by people attending an annual Army-Navy football game, which had hectic traffic jams and crowded sidewalks. C) Other more people say Black Friday originated by slave traders who would sell slaves for a discount to assist plantation owners when they needed extra help to prepare for winter. C makes more sense to me.
