@Sammy, there was a song by Nancy Sinatra, maybe called "summer wine" "Strawberries cherries and an angel kissing spring. My summer wine is really made from all these things"> Etc
  • Yes~lots~have 2 freezers one crank and one electric. Like the old crank one best if you do it right your done in about 15 minutes. You should try butter pecan almost to good to die for. Dec.04
  • I did, back in the 1970s. It was vanilla flavour.
  • About a thousand times. 12/4
  • Yes indeed. It was my father's favorite, so I grew up helping him make and eat the stuff. I took a job when I was a teenager at a dude ranch back in the late 1950s that served all the meals family style. Every Saturday night, we made homemade ice cream for the dessert after the bbq dinner. We made it from the cream we collected from milking the cows twice a day. Electric ice cream makers weren't around yet so we made it by turning that crank until it wouldn't turn any more. At the ranch, we always made vanilla from a cooked custard. My father always liked strawberry or peach, made from ripe mashed fruit added into the mix.. 2/5/23
  • My mother would mix the ingredients and put them in the canister. I would add the ice and salt and turn the crank until it would be too hard to turn. Then enjoy the eating.
  • Yes. I remember doing it as a kid and the texture was never quite perfect, but now I have a kit that I've used with my own kid, and the texture of the ice cream comes out much closer to store bought, but it's still a little harder. I've made vanilla, chocolate, caramel, and lime flavours most recently.
