  • I was 18 - and I had a very bad infection that nearly killed me. I was in the hospital for two weeks for blood poisoning... But that was nearly 25 years ago -
  • all 4 at 16.. not so bad they do "conscious sedation" so if you fall asleep you forget the WHOLE thing...
  • Not yet. They grew out when I was 11 years old. Often a lot of people claim that it hurts terribly and that it aches. However, when mine grew it didn't hurt a bit. I haven't gotten them removed.
  • Yes, all four at once and I was about 17. They were just beginning to come out so it wasn't too terrible.
  • Two of them because they were causing a problem . I still have the other two . I am hoping they will give me a little wisdom as I get longer in the tooth. Sorry Edit I was about 23 when they were removed I spent 3 days in hospital
  • I was about 16 or 17 and they were impacted and had to be surgically removed. They gave me sodium pentathol and I don't know what I said , but, when I finally woke up, the nurse's face was as red as a beet. I probably don't want to know. LOL
  • I had all 4 taken out in the hospital when I was 21 years old.
  • I'm 23 and I still have all 4. Im sure my time will come.
  • Haven't gotten mine taken out and probably won't have to at least this is what my orthodontist told me he says that I have a very rare case (about 1 in 10 people) where there both in correctly and don't need to be fooled with fortunately but I do have braces right now so all is not well with my teeth but everything should be well after I get these effers off me.
  • I was 34 and had all 4 pulled it was a bad thing I "came to" during the surgery, the dr was rude and yelled at me
  • I was 14 (ten days before my 15th birthday). I had a smooth recovery, I could talk as soon as the sedative wore off, and there was very little pain thanks to my two good friends ibuprofen and vicodin.
  • I got them all cut out when I was 16. It wasnt bad at all. I still have them!
  • I was 16 all four were taken out it wasn't a bad thing. Could have been worse. I got to miss some school. Though some of it was over Halloween vacation ish.
  • I was 26 and had them all pulled by an oral surgeon. They put me to sleep and I never felt a thing. Three pulled and one cut out. I think I was there an hour at most and walked out feeling fine. I was given vicodin to take afterwards and I never had to take one. There was never any discomfort and I have a very tender mouth.. so kudos to Dr. Cook! I had been having migraines for a couple of years and my doctor told me that my wisdom teeth were the cause of it. He was right. They stopped after I had them pulled.
  • Nope. According to my dentist I'm not getting any :)
  • When I was 19 I had an appointment with my dentist. He told me that my wisdom teeth were a bit crowded, but that I did not have to have them out if I didn't want to. I had seen what my brother went through having had one tooth pulled. So, I said, "Fine, leave them in." I still have all my wisdom teeth. Therefore, I am wiser than most of you. ;-)
  • The reason I've never developed wisdom must be the fact that I never had wisdom teeth.
  • Yes, at a routine visit to my dentist he said there wasnt enough room for them to come through and i would be in terrible pain if they did, so he recommended having them removed, which i did - think i was about 24 at the time. I was in pain for a few days afterwards and had terrible bruising all over my jawline, but otherwise that was it.
  • I had my two bottom wisdom teeth removed when I was in my early 20s.
  • I had them taken out when I was fourteen. It was a hellish experience. I was pumped full of downers, drooling cups full of blood and couldn't talk, which meant I couldn't complain to anybody about it.
  • Yes. I had one out in my early twenties and then in my early 30s got the other ones out. They were all a mess, really curled ends. But the dentist did okay even though he hadn't known about the curls and would have sent me to a specialist if he had known.
  • i was 18 or 19, had them all cut out, didnt take any of the meds the gave me, swelling only last a couple days, and i pulled all the stitches out within a week, fun times, fun times
  • I'm 27 and I haven't gotten them out yet, although I need to have them removed as they are impacted and pushing forward into my other teeth. I'm not looking forward to it.
  • All four removed when I was 18. The bottom two were impacted and messing up the work of 5 1/2 years of braces so they were all yanked. I've had TMJ ever since and I can feel dents in my lower jaw where the teeth were, but otherwise no complications.
  • Yep, two were taken out when I was 15 and the other two when I was 27.
  • Yep got them out in Nov. 04 When I was 19. They had to take all 4 out and one was impacted so they chipped away at my jaw a little. What I thought was cool was the feeling of the drugs they gave me while they were working. After words I have no clue what I was doing (Understood what it was like to be drunk). They gave me the pills if the pain gets to bad but i never took them. it was fun but not good.
  • I was 32 and it was bad! Get them out as soon as you can.
  • I had one out a couple of years ago (I'm 41). The dentist was a butcher, or so i thought judging by how much it hurt when he gave me the anaesthetic injection. But it paid off when he came to take the tooth out, he just gave one enormous yank and it was out!
  • yeah i got em out last year (actually 2 of em), & it was not that bad , i was 22 cz now I'm 23
  • i have all 4 in my mouth, and i don't plan on getting them out as long as they are not in my way.
  • Right before braces - age 12.
  • I'm 20 and in the process of getting mine removed.
  • I was 17, and had them all out at once. and they were all impacted. and then that night when I went to bed, I hadn't quite stopped bleeding, either. the next morning my pillow looked liked a murder scene! ahhh, memories!
  • i got all four of mine and four more adult teeth done when i was 15 i was put to sleep for it tho
  • im 19 turning 20 in a few months, and i still have mine, told myself i would bare the pain and keep them, after have braces and everything, but now i feel its time for them to go. my bottom left side hurts and is giving me and earache.
  • Yes. All 4 of mine were impacted sideways. I had them all removed at one time, when I was 17.
  • All four at the same time. I was about 29 yo.
  • i am 25 years old and had 3 wisdom teeth taking out over a month ago, and it sucked, i was in so much pain after wards and it still is giving me problems, i am going back to a different dentist. and i'm a tough girl... i have been on 3 rounds of antibiotics, because i got infections in my holes, and now when i stick my tongue back there i feel a sharp thing that hurts when i move it.... so that must be a piece of bone that the doctor left in there..errrrrr.. and i also got a bunch of ulcers in the back of my throat (side affect from the tube they put down your throat, not all people get them) i guess i was the lucky one. so i could hardly swollow, eat, or drink, with out having major pain!!! so good luck to all that have them wisdom teeth out... not all are like mine, so don't let this scare you@!!!! but don't be fooled either!!!!
