I know that leaving wine in a hot car will ruin it; what are the effects of leaving scotch in a hot car for a few hours?

I doubt a few hours will ruin the scotch. It has a much higher alcohol content and not much in it that spoils (if anything) so it should be fine.

i would say avoid doing that if you can.. i know from making jello shots, heat really does screw up your alcohol. like hot water can ruin 80 proof vodka in a really short amount of time.. i'd say the same for excessive heat, like you'd find in a car.
