Of course. I will give you the etiquette answer, this being the category and all. Such occurrences are assumed to be not under one's control. Anyone drawing attention to it or remarking, including the "culprit," is extremely rude. Everyone is supposed to politely pretend that nothing happened. People who can do such things on command are not covered under etiquette, because such louts are too slovenly to consider. :o) +2

I try not to fart in my own home when people are around. I go to the restroom. True story though, twice in the past month I've gone to another room of my house to fart only to have someone follow me in there and walk right into it!

No, but try to stop it.

its foul and only dragged up people would do that if others were around

Ethically, you should own up to a fart. Acknowledge it and say, "excuse me." 🫢

There is no harm done in farting. Everyone farts sometimes. Some people may show disgust when they hear someone else fart without realising their own guilt when they fart as well. Anyone who thinks that farting is not socially acceptable are the ones with a problem because everyone does it. Releasing gas out the rear is only natural.
