  • Yes, I have. I have shot a .32 auto, a M16a and a Glock 7.
  • Did a lot of shooting rabbits with an old, open sited .22. Used a shotgun as well. Fired a .270 which was a beast! Fired an old .303 once too. And an automatic that was an old WWII gun - cannot remember its name though.

  • I used to own a single shot .22 when I was a youngster. I mostly shot at targets and old tin-cans. I had a .38 special when I was older. I got rid of them when I moved to a different town and didn't want to deal with them anymore. I rarely bought any ammo for them and barely used them. About the only time I handled them was to clean them. I did fire an antique WW I US Army service revolver about a year ago at some targets a cousin of mine had at his farm.
  • So far, i've shot only one kind of gun which is the M16 rifle. I fired it because it was a requirement of my ROTC in college.

  • A 3.5 inch naval gun. Makes a mess of the target. Looks like I'm the only one in here to fire a gun. The rest of these people are firing pistols, rifles , shotguns and assorted weaponry. Guns are big and live on ships.
  • No, only air pistols and rifles. I once shot a sheep by mistake so its probably just as well it wasn't a real gun!
  • 9mm 22 pistol 38 410 22 rifle
  • M16 for Air Force training. First time I fired it I was awarded with marksman. Just when I was impressed with myself the guy next to me said he accidently fired at my target. I still got the marksmanship but for me always with an asteric. When I fired again--I was lucky enough to get it and this time -----with no help. Yes I fired a real gun and thankfully did'nt have to use it against any real people.

  • Many. My first gun was a Ruger 10/22. It's a good gun, a decent defense weapon and can put food on the table, and I won't ever get rid of it. I also have a couple of Winchester 1300 Defenders, which rounds out my current collection. I have shot a bunch of different weapons at one time or another ranging from a .38 revolver to a Tommy gun. For some reason, I prefer my .22 over them all.

  • Apart from Scubabob, who seems to have been being facetious, all of the top ten answers were from people who live in the USA. Nobody else from the English speaking world got involved. I know this is supposed to be an answer and not a question, but don't you think that this says something about the differences between those of of us who share a common language? Also, why did anybody bother to answer such a facile question? And, as a final thought, how on earth does what I think is a facile question merit (at the moment) 38 points?
  • Where I grew up it was only a short distance to get to areas where you could freely shoot for fun. Many of my friends and I would often go out and test our skills with handguns & shotguns. I have had several guns from an early age; it was very competitive and entertaining. However, it seems those days are over, now around here, you have to go to an authorized range.
  • No. I was too young to have fired the guns of a naval destroyer or battleship. As for firearms, I've fired a few including assault rifles. My eyesight isn't what it used to be; but I'm still accurate as long as I have my glasses.
  • i've fired 3 different handguns. i don't know what the first one was; i was quite young. the second one was a 40 caliber and the third one was a revolver.
  • In the Navy, from 1980 to 1990, the old Colt 45 pistol, the M-14 rifle, and the Mossberg shotgun. I think those weapons are now obsolete.

  • Yes, growing up in the country and doing a career in the Navy as a gunnersmate, I have fired from 8" and 5" guns on ships (there are bigger ones, that is the diameter of the barrell. Also have fired M-16, AK-47, M-60, Browning Automatic Rifle, .50 machine guns, M-14, M-1 carbines, an old Winchester 44.70 from around the 1880 time period, one old flintlock, 6mm Mauser, 40mm saluting battery, .38, .45. That was in the military. Of personal weapons, Dad taught me to shoot his pistols when I was about seven or eight years old, they included an old Navy Colt cap and ball pistol (I dont know what happened to that one), an old .22 that was called a "Trapper Special", Walther .380, Ruger .22, We still have all of those except the Navy revolver. My own personal collection, includes Baretta 9mm, S&W .38 and .357, a Bursa .380 (which I carry),a Thompson Contender barreled for .243, an old 1903 Smith-Corona Army 30.06 that has been sporterized with the original flash surpressor still in place. A Winchester .220 Swift, Savage .222, AR-15, a Remington .243, and .270. I have bought most of these in the last year or so. Have fired them all, plus I have two or three other handguns hidden around the house for personal protection. And to the guy who commented on one of the other posts about how he wasnt going to visit the states becuase of all the gunowners, good, we dont need you. If you feel unsafe where there are so many honest lawabiding citizens that are armed, then you wont be safe anywhere. I suspect you are from England or Australia, lets see how safe are you where all the law abiding citizens had to give up their weapons. Did the criminals give theirs up? I think not. Oh, well, I had better quit before I get started on my soap box.
  • I'm English, and under 16, but as part of my CCF, i've legally been able to fire .22 rifles, L98 A1 rifles, and an LSW (light support wepon). I don't have a licence, but then again i don't need one for my CCF.

The most fun, bar none, was the Thompson "Tommy Gun".It has a fairly slow cyclic rate compared to an HK -MP5 or an M-16 and is pretty accurate at close/moderate ranges ( When fired in short bursts) and is surpizingly easy to control due to it's heavier weight.

  • i bought a davis industries model p380 hand gun, about 7 years ago. i took it out to the woods to fire it. the handle of the gun was too small, and that piece of skin between my thumb, and index finger kept getting pinched in the silde area! i sold the gun a few weeks later. unless you have a very small hand, avoid buying this particular type of gun.
  • I've fired many shotguns and i remember the time when i had my uncles ak-47 to guard his truck when i was 6
  • yes bb gun
  • My brother's air pistol that shoots 3.5mm slugs... great fun, we only ever use it now for fun.. lining various objects up in the garden or loft and firing at them. It's bloody accurate too!! The other day we were shooting boiled potatoes (that satisfyingly explode when hit) and when a wasp landed on the top of one, steve, my mum's friend bet he could hit the wasp without nuking the spud... I confidently bet a tenner and so did my mum and bro.... the b*stard only did it though!! Hit the wasp clean off the top with only a 1mm deep channel across the top of the tatie... damn impressive!! One of the few times my mouth has genuinely fallen open aghast! x
  • Yes... I've been shooting since I was in my early teens and I've fired quite a few firearms; everything from .22 Cal rifles & pistols up to 12-Gauge shotguns firing .78 cal. rifled slugs. Way too many to list here by make and model; suffice it to say I've fired a number of them. I've found black powder rifles & pistols to be interesting as my Best Friend is a reinactor and very much into black power weapons but I prefer modern day weapons. Some of my most memorable weapons I've fired. Remington Model-190 22Cal rifle. • Yes a .22, an AR15, both rifles, a shotgun a pistol.
  • I've had firarm practice in both the Navy and as a guard, with 33's and 45's. I don't own any guns though.
  • Yes, I own several only because they are all I inherited from my dad and his dad and it is all I have from them since they are now gone. Long ago my grandfather used his shotgun to help feed the family in a time when people still did that on a regular basis (he was born in 1884!!). I grew up going hunting with my dad and grandad and shot all the guns I have of theirs while still a young guy. They are a 16 gauge Belgium made Browning shotgun, my gradfather's 1903 Remington 12 gauge shotgun made on the Browning patent, my dad's Marlin 30-30 and his Remington scoped 30-06. I've also shot my cousin's British Army 303 bolt action rifle with a range of nearly one mile. In addtion, I have two handguns I bought solely for target practice but always made sure my kids could not get to them and kept them locked away. Both my kids are older now with my youngest being 17 and he has never shot a gun before. I just don't see the need to show him how since I have not fired them in years myself. I keep them mainly as heirlooms.
  • I don't know what they were... but I think it was some kind of shot gun...
  • A .22 rifle, a .38 and some kind of semi-automatic at the range...when I was like 10 :)

  • Many types of weapons including U.S. M-16, XM-177, M-21, M-72, M-79, M-60 Chicom: AK-47/Type 56, SKS, MAT-49, the kist goes on... (I'm a Force Recon Marine Veteran).
  • Yes I have fired many guns in my time but here is a small listing of the weapons I have fired. M9(9mm), M60(Machine Gun), M249 SAW, Rocket Launher, M-16A2, M-1 Garrand, .270 Winchester, 30-06 Remington, 12 Gauge Double Barrell Shotgun, 16 Gauge Shotgun, .22 Rifle, .22 Pistol, .38 Revolver, P38 Pistol (9mm), M203 Grenade Launcher, .22 Semi-Automatic Pistol.
  • 12 gauge shotgun and a 9mm
  • every thing at the same time . it was reely hard to hold them but somehow i only got slight injury in my balls and face.period.
  • Yes I have fired a gun before, and the gun was a winchester single shot.My grandpa gave me the low down on the safty protocol for fire arms. And that was to never under any circumstances was I to shoot towards the house no matter the proximity to it. He told me of the firing position prone, and firing position rested, and if you have to standing no rest. He said line the v-notch up with the front sight level, he started getting excited swearing and he got so mad he said heres a box of shells practice, and I got another box of shells and by that evening I started to get the hang of shooting. The next day I got a couple of ground spuirells, and from that moment I was hooked to shooting as I'am hooked to air. I mean literally I love shooting it gives me a rush like you wouldn't believe, by the time I was 13 I had a 7mm rem mag, one old 303 brit and a 30-30 winchester and that twenty two I was talking about my gramps gave me that along with a 22 revolver. When there was no one around I'ed pack that thing on my hip,and then I got curious about girls and the guns kinda took second place, for awhile but I still go hunting and have a great time just the getting out is half the fun, and if we get somthing we do and if we don't well if was nice to be in the mountains, You know there are some people who do bad things with guns, and they tighten up the laws and in my country they take it out on people like me. So now its like the good guys aren't alowed to buy ammo for our guns unless we have a license and for that matter hunting rifles. But the government didn't realize that the bad guys can get guns and ammo any time they want because they get their guns illeagal any ways. but enough politicss these are the guns I owned and shot and will continue to shoot. You see I make my own ammo and I don't need a license to by gun powder and I reuse my casings. Happy Hunting or shooting. not people any how. Lol lol
