My mother liked the child actor Mark Lester. He acted in "Oliver!" which she loved. Apparently she was not alone because it's probably the most common name in my age group. At high school there was once 4 Marks in my class. My whole life its been like that. At my present job we are two Marks. I've gotten used to being called on my surname. My mom, being Scottish as hell, who has never before had pain killers in her life was so high (after passing a 11 pound 9 ounce bundle of pissed off energy). She looked at my delivery doctors boots and said what brand of boots are those? He replied Justins so she asked him what kind of hat do you wear? he replied a Stetson. So she named me Angus Macabe, wish my name was Justin Stetson instead....but you got to love the woman anyways.

My first name means "gift from God" as I was a totally unexpected and unplanned baby. My parents were in their early forties when they had me. Dad would tease me that I must have been a "gift from God"

My dad liked the name & refused to name me what my mum wanted to call me. However I wish he listened to my mum as I hate the name I was given. There was no symbolic meaning to it or anything like that. They named me at the last minute lol.

I do not know for sure why my grandfather has given my name to me. I was never told. My full name is Li (surname or family name) Jin Shang (personal name). Chinese names will always have the surname in front, unlike English names and the like where the surname is placed at the back of personal names. This is my guess. My personal name could have been plucked from a Chinese idiom "Jin Shang Tian Hua" (in Chinese characters 锦上添花)which means "make what is already good still better". If this is the meaning then I would have disappointed my grandfather. Henceforth I would use my name as a challenge to improve further in my life.

my grandmother (dad's mom) was french and she wanted at least 1 grandchild with a french name. but my mom wanted to spell it with an "S" rather than a "C". i loved my grandma! she always had good taste! :)

my mother was 18 when she first fell pregnant, she married my father and had he little baby son named daniel. he died a day later. she then fell pregnant with me at 21. i was alwasy going to be named grace, but decided to call me danielle after daniel. nawwww
