  • You can't just focus on the belly! While it is important to do abdominal exercises (sit-ups, crunches...) you won't see real results unless you're doing a full fitness program. This includes cardio! Eat a balanced diet as well and keep your back straight. They say that one of the causes of belly fat can be too much stress which raises your cortisol(SP?) levels. There are all kinds of pills out now that are supposed to reduce these levels and reduce your belly fat but I tried a couple of different kinds and they didn't work for me.
  • I worked up to 365 crunches a day by starting out with one on January first and adding one every day. It was painless and I have seriously strong and flat abs. I also take a fast walk almost every day.
  • You can't "spot-reduce" fat away - it melts off the whole body, and often the belly last.
  • I do sit-ups and push ups. =)
  • Stomach Crunches.
  • Stop exercising the arm, that lifts the hand, that holds the fork, to your mouth. Works every time.
  • Eat health no sugars or fried stuff and don't over eat instead have small meals 3-6 times a day. Get some exercise walk for 1 hr each day. Over time you will notice your losing it. Its a myth working out your ab's will get rid of the fat around your waist you just need to watch what you eat to stay the same and if you want to lose then burn it off with the exercise. - It works I lost almost 30Lb and now I just watch what I eat(dont exercise like I should) and I stay this size.
  • There is no exercise you can do that burns fat from a specific part of the body. You can do sit ups or crunches to tone the muscles in your stomach, but that does nothing to burn the fat from that area. What you need to do is consume fewer calories than you burn each day which will result in fat deposits all over your body being used for energy. Do not stop eating altogether, or your body will think you are starving and your metabolic rate will slow way down. Eat 5 or 6 small meals everyday, choose healthy foods (lots of vegetables) and stay active. Before you know it, you be able to see a difference in the mirror. Good luck.
  • I have never found any exercise to reduce belly fat. The only success I have ever had with this was South Beach Diet which virtually eliminates carbs from the diet and then gradually adds them back in. This sounds harder than it actually was. Once the first 48 hours had past, the rest was a breeze. And you really DO lose the belly fat first.
  • Sitting in front of a computer asking strangers what to do about it is the best way, clearly. Nothing to do with exersize or diet.
  • Ask him for a divorce!
  • How many times, and in how many ways, are you going to ask this same question? The answer to all of them is the same: diet and exercise.
  • Sit-Ups...and that plank thing! And stop eating sugar, did wonders for me!
  • Diet. Calories in, calories out my friend.
  • Reducing the amount of calories you consume is the most effective way to get rid of belly fat. Really, when it comes down to it, losing any kind of fat, no matter where it is on your body, requires you to consume less calories than you body needs. This lack of calories will set into motion the processing of excess body fat to make up for the lack of calories. But don’t go all crazy about it. Starving your body of calories is only good to a certain extent, after a point you begin to do damage to important things, like your central nervous system. There’s a reason they call it a “beer belly,” and drinking less beer, or quitting drinking altogether, will help you lose belly fat. No matter who (or how good looking) the drinker is, beer is bad for a number of reasons. The most obvious reason is the caloric content of beer. The less obvious reasons are the inflammation of the pancreas and liver, and the bloating that often accompany the over-consumption of alcoholic beverages; this includes alcohol mixed with sweet, sugary liquids like soda. Consuming less food loaded with sugar will help you to lose tummy fat. Sugar is a big one. The sugar found in junk food and soda is the kind of sugar that burns quickly, unlike those sugars found in fruits and vegetables, which burn more slowly. If your body is processing sugar to create energy, and you’re not using any energy, those sugars will be converted into fat for later use. If you’re going to enjoy sweets, enjoy them right before you use the Stair Master. There’s nothing wrong with strengthening your abdominal muscles, but it won’t get rid of belly fat like magic. You may want to consider not only working out your abs, but also working out your shoulders, pectorals, back, and arms to help create a more shapely “V” figure, which will help reduce the appearance of your belly. Keep this in mind: bulking up your muscles requires fewer reps (about 8) and fewer sets with greater weight. Building leaner muscle requires more reps, more sets, and less weight. Daily exercise and walking will definitely get rid of belly fat. Going for a walk after a big meal or enjoying a dessert is never a bad idea. When Natasha and I were in Europe, we ate our fair share of delicacies, but we didn’t gain a single pound—in fact, we actually lost weight—because we walked everywhere. We walked from the train station to our hotel, and from our hotel to the restaurant, and from the restaurant to the museums, and from the museums to the…well, you get my point. http://tinyurl.com/2xlloy
  • Lots of sex!
  • Cut down on calories, increase the exercise. For the upper and lower stomach muscles you need to do stomach crunches and side stretches. Pilates with resistance is very good for toning and stretching. All exercise needs to be taken with the correct diet.
  • I don't know but if and when you find out let me know. I think crunches, sit ups, and any type of ab exercise.
  • i think some people on here can be such jerks.. but the best way is crunches...
  • get a new boy-friend. then eat a little less.
  • Divorce, I lost 85kg of useless fat instantly and the stress of the divorce made me skinny.
  • walk a mile or more 5 time a week. touch your toes ahd stretch upward every hour or two at work or school-you'll be pleasantly surprised.
  • Don't bother going on any silly diets! Eat what you want to eat, but not to much of it! Also, exercise! Make a plan of exercises! For example on Monday do 40 situps and 20 minutes jogging! Then complete these exercises at various times throughout the day, (the trick is not to do it all at once)!
  • That would be the exercise where your mind tells your hand to leave the food alone.
  • Please don't set yourself up to fail. You cannot spot reduce!!!!Nonono! Its all about nutrition and cardio. You must be unhappy with your symmetry and proportions if you are talking about your stomach. It could be genetic but you can fine tune your body by at least 3 days of cardio and getting rid of heavy creamy tasty foods that are high in salt, sugar, starches, processed, etc. You may have to consult a nutritionist. Well worrth the money. For now, do your research and find out all he healthy proteins, good grains and nonstarchy vegetables to eat as well as good fats. Combining these foods will keep your nutrients up and weight down. Portions count too! Don't overeat. Eat smaller meals! Unfortunately, you have to teach yourself to eat better. Best of luck. If you really want it, you can do it. This is a lifetime goal. As long as it took you to put on the weight, you have to give yourself the time to take it off.
  • Working out and sticking to diet.
  • stop eating is the best way. when you see poor people who are destitute and dont have enough to eat...they dont have any belly fat. you could call it a controlled fast. no fruit, no sugar, no grain. plus plenty of water to flush your system regularly of toxins and waste. sixteen ounces every two hours.

  • keep track of what you are eating, because it's probably more than you think. Alli works for this
  • Is not just a matter of only getting rid of that specific area, it is also important to remember that in order to change your looks you also have to change the way you eat and the way you live your life. I know thousands of diet that will help you get rid of the belly fat in a matter of weeks, but if you don't want to see it for the rest of your life you got to start making healthy choices whenever you do your groceries, and at least to take a walk around your house 3 times a week for 25 minutes, that would do great. Now if you are looking for a solution to get an amazing shape, i strongly recommend to everyone body shapers, check this website> vedetteoutlet.com and you will see all the kinds of shapers they have for all of different areas around your body, with me it helped me getting rid of my lower and middle abdominal area. But remember what is really the most important is how you continue living your life, because getting a perfect shape is possible for everyone but to keep it, it's a different story.
  • Cardio combine with toning. I do yoga and crunches. I am also trying a water that is supposed to help flatten your belly. It has ginger root, mint leaves, lemons, and cucumbers. I put a big picture in the fridge and drink it all day>
  • I can't speak from experience, but I do know that you would have to reduce the amount of sugars and do something aerobic. When the guys in my gym (the ones that compete) have to lose body fat to define their cuts or muscles, whatever...they eat massive amounts of protein and cut back on carbs. These are the guys I ask when I need to know something about nutrition. One guy noticed me struggling with the lowest weight on a machine (20-lbs, my arms were trembling) and recommended a protein shake which helped me--I have spaghetti arms. They really know a lot about stuff like that. Good thing is you can probably find one in every gym! :D Good luck. :D

  • Just throw the damn man out the front door!
  • very simply, eat very little fat, eat less carbs, and walk or jog a couple miles everyday. with your body burning more calories than taking in calories, deficit, you will lose weight slowly. there no such thing as spot reduction, when you lose weight, you lose it equally allover your body.
  • The time my abs looked their best was about 12 years ago when I was going to college. My secret: The Ab Roller Plus Machine. It's about $50.00 and it works as long as you use it. Use it at least 3 times a week even if only for 20 minutes. I saw my results in about 2-3 months, Honest! I had almost no belly fat then. But at the time, I also didn't drink beer. I was a size 6. Nowadays I drink beer regularly and I'm wearing a size 10!
  • Daily sit ups. It's true, nothing else will work.

  • The most important action you can take is to get plenty of aerobic exercise, since this method of calorie burning uses fat for fuel, and removes it from the entire body. The good news is that it will come off the waist first! The other exercises you can do are simple crunches. This does not require full sit ups, which can be damaging to the spine. As long as you are flexing your rectus abdominus, you are toning this muscle. The idea of isolating the “lower abdominals” is a myth, because the rectus abdominus is one long muscle, which includes the “six pack” that all humans own. Some of us cover their six pack with more fat than others. It does not disappear, or turn into fat. As long as you are flexing the rectus abdominus, or curling it forward, you are toning this muscle. If you should add weight while doing this, you are adding even more resistance, which will build stronger muscle fibers, adding to the strength of this muscle. This is very beneficial to do, not just because it looks great, but because it helps to support the spine, assisting the back muscles and reducing back problems and pain. The best way to flex your abdominals is...visit www.MsFitUniverse.com to see the rest!
  • divorce her fat husband. On her, exercise and if needed, surgery.
  • 5 straight days of cardio, for 45 mins and last 10 mins. of it push your hardest. Then 2 days off and then back to 5 straight days! I am 46 have great abs!
  • It depends on your age, your diet, stress levels, genetics, and how much you exercise. As we age DHEA levels decline and the body more readily converts food to fat rather than fuel. So if you are over 35 it's likely that a DHEA supplement would help. Address your diet by eliminating refined sugar and refined foods in general. The more easily a food converts to sugar the more insulin your body has to produce to keep your blood sugar level. Insulin does this by converting the sugar to fat to get it out of the blood stream. So avoid sugar, white flour, etc. like the plague. This includes corn syrup, fructose and the like. Stress hormones are notorious for adding fat to the belly. Eliminate as much stress as possible and learn good stress management techniques like breathing deeply, bio-feedback, visualization, more effective commnuication, yoga, etc. If the women in your family have body types that are more round in the middle, it may be your body type. Celebrating your body type while emphasizing areas that are more fabulous is a good idea. Many women with larger bellies have fabulous legs or calves or really great arms or breasts. Highlight what you like. Belly fat is the most dangerous fat to have as it is linked to heart attacks and other health issues. So it's good to get on top of it. Exercise is important and, as much as people emphasize cardio, weight training is your best bet for long-term metabolic increase. The more muscle you have the "hungrier" your body is for energy and the more likely your food will be converted to fuel to feed your muscles. Weight training also helps with bone density. I'd say walk 30 minutes a day and start doing resistance exercises. Work upper-body one day and lower-body the next. You will increase your metabloism, your mood, and your youth producing hormones as well as get improvement in any blood-sugar issues you may have. As you can see, there are many causes of belly fat. Find out what yours is so you can address it more specifically. Best of luck to you!
  • liposuction
  • More sit ups and fewer elbow bends.
  • Divorce the fat bastard
  • Have that baby already. LOL Then to Rid Your body of fat you're going to have to Burn More calories than you consume. How you do that is your choice, Everybody thinks their exercise plan is the best. Just pick one you like and will actually "STICK" with. Diets dont FaIL, People Fail to stick with them.
  • Cardio is the correct answer along with a healthy diet.
  • The middle is very hard. for men and women. Diet is very important. Cutting back on high fat foods, not eating late, and eating healthy. But really, you need to do cardio(run, fast walking, fitness machines at gym for 30-45 minutes at least 5 times a week. 6 would not hurt. And you need to push yourself. If it feel comfortable you are not trying hard enough. And yes, you need to do your crunches! lol hope this helps. =)
  • I'm not a woman, but I think the best way is to eat good food (vegetables, fruits, wheat bread, cereal, lean meat) and to exercise until your shirt is dripping wet with sweat. Also try to stay away from junk food like potato chips, chocolates, cakes, pies, doughnuts, etc. Losing belly fat takes a lot of hard work and dedication. The harder you workout, the better results you will get. That's what I believe.
  • spot reduction is a myth, body fat come off over the entire body, you can not target one area to lose fat on it own.. think about it please, if it was that simple no one would have belly fat
  • Eat healthy and exercise
  • Eat less and exercise more.
  • go on a diet
  • Proper exercise, diet and rest-sleep are the basic keys to any physical fitness goal. There are magazines and books that give advice on how to do this. You cut calories and fattening foods. You need to reduce total body-fat. Running or just walking energetically for some distance burns many calories. Swimming laps does as well. Sit ups, leg raises and abdominal crunches work the rectus abdominus muscles. Twists work the external obliques on the sides of the waist.
  • go on a diet
  • Crunches and sit ups will help tighten stomach muscles and be of some help but no exercise can isolate and burn fat off a specific part of the body. Weight loss is the loss of fat evenly all over the body.
  • Ab sit-ups, crunches and bench leg raises are a great way to shed belly fat. Although cutting down on fatty foods is a top priority, since you are what you eat.
