  • My friend built up his graphic design business and this was his approach: he started taking cheap freelance work on fiverr and upwork. That helped him get experience + portfolio. He also got regular clients, but they were low-paying. When his work got good enough, he started promoting his work on Behance. Now he has really well paying clients direct + through Behance. Hope that helps.

  • I think the best way to sell your services online is by creating and maintaining relationships. In any type of work relationship, the way you sell your services is by being authentic and providing much more than what they perceive, and you may be able to provide for them. It is essential to be genuine and honest when you are dealing with people. Authenticity would make it easy for people to connect with you. Offer your prospective clients how your product, your expertise, would be beneficial to their company. Provide real assurance of results on their website and point out the benefits, while giving necessary information on the number of people that can be reached and influenced by their website with the services and interests, such as targeted advertising, metrics, and analytics, that you could provide. And also, do your research beforehand, so you may be able to offer services that they need that you may be able to provide. In this aspect, you can network with other designers or developers you trust, to accomplish a goal, and help each other to earn together.
