I was required to move out back in 1966 when I got drafted. However, I was not "on my own" yet. That wouldn't happen until I got out of the army.

It depends on what is meant by on your own. I left home at 13 but was at a private school. I also left when I went into the Navy at 17. Then to university when I was 22. I have spent time at my parent's home from time to time but now they are both gone and I live alone.

I did not move out on my own, but with my s/o at the age of 21.

Left home at 15, married at 18, Navy at 23, divorced at 30 and my mom died. So that's when I knew I was on my own. If anything got paid for or done it was on me alone.
