My son would say Eel! I would say GAG!
-
The kind that has just come out of the microwave!
-
california roll, my personal favorite because of the fresh avocado
-
california roll is very mild, so if your worried about the fishiness, i would definitely ease in with something like that, then try the stronger flavors once your acclimated to that.

I would try a california roll. My wife has never had susui till i took her out for it and she loves california rolls now but doesn't like the texture of the other stuff on the menu. It's a good beginner course in susui...go with the california rolls.

If you would like to learn to like sushi, what's holding you back? If you're afraid of raw fish, you can start by having sushi made with cooked fish. Cooked shrimp is a good beginner sushi since shrimp is already familiar. Another possibility is smoked salmon. If you've already had bagels and lox, Japanese smoked salmon is nearly identical to lox. California roll is a good choice if you like avocado and (cooked) "crab stick." If you like sweet egg custard, there's also a kind of sushi made with that, and it's the kind often first given to children.

Seared fatty salmon is quite good if you can find a place that serves it. Unagi (eel) or anago (sea eel) is also quite tasty and not raw so it might be suitable for beginners.
-
unagi...fresh water eel. it's absolutely delicious.
-
salmon and cream cheese is good.
-
whatever kind you want

California roll is popular: crab, cucumber, avocado, Philadelphia: salmon, avocado and cream cheese; Tekka maki: tuna; Kappa maki: cucumber; Toro: raw tuna on top of rice (no roll).
