HUGE. All hospitals are going electronic thru the whole country. The docs I work with are already typing in they progress reports and H&P; no longer dictating. It helps with less mistakes and easier to read. Electronic charting is much easier after you learn the system. It is great for anywhere in the country. If you are in Ohio and are visiting Hollywood, then you give the practitioner your medical record number and viola! your entire medical history is at their fingertips! All of your allergies, all of the medicines you tried, but didnt work for you, etc. All of your surgeries and your current medication list.
