  • Excellent idea. So you'll need to know what sort of device it is and what sort of driver. You can find that information in the System hardware applet, available on the Device Manager Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager.
  • it sounds like you need the NIC driver, check your device manager (in the network category) for the name/model of the nic.
  • JamesWW and HasntBeen, Thanks very much for your answers and help. I found the model of the NIC as you said, and found the driver for it online easily. NOW I HAVE IT :-) , so hopefully when I re-install XP, I can easily add this driver and be back in business. Thanks a great deal for your fast help. ____________Dennis
