  • Help my mom in the process of giving me life...? I think that gives everything else a pretty good run for its money.
  • He took me on vacaction to Lake Okoboji where I could go swimming, boating, bingo playing and just lounge around in the sun!
  • Raised me by himself when my birth mother wouldn't have anything to do with me. He really tried his damnedest to make sure I was taken care of. I think that's pretty cool.
  • He hasn't done anything for me. He left when I was just a baby.
  • Teach me how to POP
  • built an above ground swimming pool for us..It was back in the early 1950's and was just a wooden frame with canvas over it..but we had a great summer..I must have been about 5 or 6
  • The night of my Junior/Senior Prom my curfew was midnight. There was a second dance at the Armory after prom. I called my mother and asked her if I could go and she firmly belted out a "NO!" I begged her and she continued to say no. Eventually she said, "Talk to you father, if he says yes you can go!" Without discussing it with him, she handed him the phone. I explained to him what was going on and he said, "Alright, but you better be in this house by 3:00 AM young lady! " :) By 2:00 AM I was so sleepy I couldn't stay awake. I was home before 2:30. My mother never expected him to say yes!
  • The coolest thing my dad ever did was leave my mom while she was pregnant. He is a racist horrible man & who knows what I would have turned out to be like if he raised me
  • Getting out of my life
  • I am too nice of a person to answer that. lets just say I never got along with my dad. I cried for all of 5 minutes at his funeral almost 20 years ago and never returned to his grave since that day.
  • Gave me a dime every Sat. to go to the movies....way back in the old days:)
  • My Father was not a close feature in my life but he did have sway over my Education. I suppose that is the coolest thing he did.
  • he sent me to a basketball camp across the country Of course he would never do that now;
  • My dad took me to game seven of the 1987 World Series between the Minnesota Twins and the St Louis Cardinals at the Metrodome in Minneapolis - That was one of the coolest experiences I've ever had! I remember when the Twins won and the place erupted in cheers - Iy was so loud that I was screaming DAD!! as loud as I could - and he couldn't hear me (he was standing right next to me) :)
  • He built me my first bike when I was about six. He got a frame from a scrap yard then bought the wheels and the rest of the stuff to go on it. It was sound!
  • My dad kicked me out of the house when I dropped out of college. He told me he would support me if I was in school and if not then I could hit the road. He wanted me to learn that minimum wage should not be a voluntary path when my capabilities were greater. After 18 months of poverty, I showed up on his doorstep with an acceptence letter from a top tier university and he let me move back in until school started.
  • provided what is required to create me, havnt seem him since!

  • He didn't kill me even though he said that he would, so I guess that's kinda cool.
  • My dad did a lot of cool things, the one that sticks out the most, is when I was around nine, I used to visit him a couple of times in the summer, I decided that I was going to be a farmer, so I planted watermelon seeds, I didnt go back to his house for two months, when I returned, there were two huge watermelons sitting where I had planted the seeds, I about peed in my pants, I strutted around, like a proud Mother Hen, for a long time, so proud of myself, I didnt find out until five years ago, that my dad bought and put the watermelons there, he was trying to help me build my confidence, it worked.
  • He drove me down to Florida to spend spring break at Disney world to meet some other members of my family. There wasn't enough room for me in the station wagon they were taking, so he took me. We barely stopped on the way down. He was really tired. It was just him and I. Probably the sweetest thing he's ever done for me. It was like four or five years ago.
  • The best thing my Dad ever did was teach me to be like him. He's the greatest!
  • ok so my dad is the owner of our company, he's a total suit just so you get the picture....3 homes, jet plane...blah blah blah, that kind of guy so when i graduated high school he took me to europe and we went all over. When we got to Amsterdam he called my step mom and she told him to take me to a coffee shop because she knows I smoke pot so he should take me...and he did. But then he rolled a joint and smoked with me...it was so cool. Then I talked about how California weed was way better than this and he said, "everything in California is better....it's the best place in the world"
  • My parents weren't home and I wasn't suppose to leave the house but my boyfriend came by on his motorcycle and off we went. Who pulls up next to me at the light? My mother and father. I had him take me right home and knew I was going to get it good. The only thing my father said to me was, "Do you want a slice of water melon?" That blew me away...very cool.
  • When I was 12, my boyfriend broke up with me by text. I cried so much! Two days later, at school my boyfriend apologies and said that he should have told me face to face like a man instead of like a wimpy asshole- then he ran. I asked him a month ago because I was going through pictures (it's been like 2 years) and picked one up of us taking by my friend. Not even looking at me, while he fixed the boiler, he told me "He hurt you. So I went to his house the next day. Found out that his parents weren't home so I talked to him." Talk is not exactly what he did. He threaten to call get my older brother and uncles with him to his house, and they'll make sure he'll never be able to breathe again. Coolest thing he ever done for me. (And probably rare- since the boy never called the police)
  • When I was 8 I needed sneakers for gym class. My stepdad didn't know which kind I wanted, so he went and bought me and my sister 7 pair each. He kept my mom from killing me a lot. I came home drunk once and he covered for me. He's the one that got me interested in singing and playing music. He's my biggest fan:) He also taught me how to drive. When I became a parent, he was the first and I think the only of my parents to tell me he was proud of me. My real dad doesn't come around much. But I remember he taught me how to fish when I was little.
  • He let me move out of my mom's house and into his house... big improvement...
  • He and I restored a 67 camaro and he gave it to me for my 16th birthday..that and left me just about everything he had when he died. :)
  • Ummmm... he loaned me $400 for a down payment on my first car. I had to pay it back with any money I got for my High School Graduation.
  • The "coolest" thing my "so-called" abusive, alcoholic, philandering dad ever did for me was to leave my Mom with 2 very young boys (ages 2 and 4), and give my Mom some peace! I saw him once when I was 5, then never saw him again. He died about 8 months ago, never trying even one time to contact me in 40 years, (which was just as good, because I know what kind of man he was).
