  • By technical decision, the mouse. The animal who stands its ground is the winner. One can ask, how can something so small like a mouse beat an elephant? The thing about elephants, if they feel another creature is moving around between their legs, they will tend to panic and run away, not knowing if they're dangerous or not. In your reference, Shadow the Answerbagger asked a question about nature: https://www.answerbag.com/q_view/3527915#a8898220 I answered the question, then I searched the category of Animals & Wildlife, and I noticed the questions of who would win out of this animal vs this other animal. I answered some. That's why those questions are on the AB homepage, saying this on 8/23/2023.
  • The elephant would win because they like to stamp as the mouse gets squashed. Sadly for the mouse, they end up on a flat note. What was the elephant doing with an envelope? They stamped it.

They're not fast enough to stomp on the mouse. Have you ever tried to kill one by stomping on it? Those suckers run like the wind!!!

I've stepped on a mouse on accident before. I wouldn't recommend that as a method of disposal, as it's not pleasant.
    • Shadow Of The Mind
Majik-1, the mouse might move towards the elephant as an elephant can stand still and make a stamp. My answer plays as a joke and not to be taken seriously.

Bostjan64, it must have been a horrible sight when you accidentally stepped on the mouse. I’m only joking in my answer
  • The mouse. It would scare the elephant away.

why do you think elephants are afraid of mice? You've been watching too many cartoons.

stevo, MythBusters television program declared the mouse the winner: https://youtu.be/wXiMs65ZAeU?si=fT_paSBLaWnWIwFY

Cartoons are based on real life & then exaggerated to make them funny. I believe that they are afraid because the experts say they are!!!

Majik, pay attention. it's not only what the experts say. It is what the experts have proven on film. In the video I added, the elephant backs away and yields the other way upon seeing the mouse. Being cautious is to avoid potential dangers. Any wrong move the elephant makes out of fear, and it can stumble and injure itself.
  • you don't think the elephant will step on the mouse or pick it up with its trunk and kill it?

Says the person from the place where all of the animals look like they were developed by a plush toy company, except they want nothing more than to kill humans.
  • According to encyclopedia dot com... "Yes, elephants are afraid of mice but it certainly isn’t because they can crawl up their trunks. If a mouse did do that, their trunk is powerful enough to just blow the mouse right out. It’s actually because they are a mammal. Most mammals have brains that are programmed to jump back or be startled by critters that scurry by in a hurry. Elephants, regardless of how big they are, are also startled by things that move by them fast, like mice. According to elephant behavior experts, they would be scared of anything moving around their feet regardless of it’s size.. Elephants are not alone in their fear of mice and other rodent like creatures. Most animals jump back or appear startled when they happen upon something they weren’t expecting. Just like a human, an elephant may be frightened if a mouse runs right by them, but so would any other animal. Animals are usually startled by the presence of another animal unless they have been tracking them or already know they are there. Humans do this too. After seeing evidence of a mouse, the human is less likely to be startled by seeing it scurry by. But even when they know the mouse isn’t a threat, humans are often startled by them. The same is true for elephants. So the truth is elephants are afraid of mice in the same way that any other animal is afraid of mice, even other mice." The idea did NOT come from cartoons; but, the idea on cartoons did come from real life!!! 😗
  • Has either animal had martial arts training?

I don't believe so. We're not talking about immature radioactive stealth assassin tarrapins nor the taijutsu monochromatic procyonoid.
