Here, by law, we have what we call "Day Lights". They come on when you turn on your ignition. They're about half the strength of headlights, and shut off when your headlights are turned on. +5

We don't have daytime running lights and we don't use low beams during the day. I'm not really sure how helpful they are anyway, unless it is a foggy/rainy day in which case everyone turns lights on! :)

In BC, Canada, 'daytime running lights' are required and come on automatically when you turn on your car. They are useful in rainy, stormy or foggy weather when visibility isn't at it's best. On a sunny day you don't even notice them.

I keep my yellow fog lamps on. I've got them wired to the ignition switch so I can't forget to turn them off. +5
