  • I found it to be a disjointed collection of stories with no single, clear message.
  • That question is a little general for this venue. Why don't you narrow your question by asking about something specific, a certain book, a certain subject, a certain character, etc.
  • its true
  • It's hard to follow
  • Very contradicting and a little funny.
  • Actually I broke it down into different stories separate from each other. Most of the old testament has a lot of meaning and is really more about how to act civilized. The new testament is a bunch of confusing bullshit that is really nonsense. It does not have the depth in terms of a message in any reality to point out the foibles of human nature as does the old testament.
  • why do i live wrong and not a rightchess life and how can i learn to live better and do right
  • cute characters and vicious imagery
  • Good script for a Zombie movie...Send more brrrrrainz...
  • Some good storys and thoughtfull moments
  • Monstrous
  • My thoughts were. Today they are, and tomorrow they will be. Reading the Bible is not a past-tense activity for me.
  • The first time was attempting to pigeonhole it into a Mormon hole. Subsequent ones was with a skeptical and much more openminded one- which included the parts of the bible that the Protestants chose to ignore, and the parts that the Catholics chose to ignore. My thoughts? Yowza! "There are even a whole lot more contradictions about the original Christianity than I originally thought!" http://www.thelostbooks.com/
  • I think it is beautiful. The Bible is a collection of many inspired writings by many authors (and one Author) over a period of hundreds of years. There are stories, histories, biographies and letters and political commentary. There are songs, poems, wise sayings, laws, and commandments. There are lessons about life and love and God. The Bible's primary purpose is to teach us the truth about God and His (or Her) love for us, not to teach facts about history or science. All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) With love in Christ.
  • Rather long and wordy.
  • The Bible is a Jewish conspiracy. Christians are deluded under a powerful spell. Christianity is nothing more than a vicious program, with the goals of: Forcing the Gentiles to give up all occult knowledge and power so all psychic power is in the hands of select Jews for total control. Indoctrinating the the Gentile masses into pacifism and a slave-like mentality of servitude Encouraging the Gentiles into giving up all money and worldly goods which is funneled into the hands of the ruling Jews and their Gentile lackeys like Billy Graham Preparing the Gentile masses for a one world communist slave state with the ruling Jews in control. Channeling Gentile psychic energy and prayers into the "Second coming of Christ" which is in reality the Jewish Messiah as any working of the mind must have a connection. Cutting the Gentiles off from their own Tribal Gods and Demi-Gods, whose identities have been altered and replaced with fictitious Jewish characters. Our True Creator God has been denegrated, viciously and heinously insulted and blasphemed and relegated to the enemy of humanity. "May his name and memory be blotted out." -The Jewish Talmud The list is endless and it is so glaringly obvious what was done. Now, we all know the Nazarene is fictitious. The Jews themselves know it and don't believe in him as he is a lie based upon some 20+ crucified "saviors" stolen from Gentile pantheons around the world. I have put a lot of effort and time into researching the Bible, as so many people have serious hang-ups because of intense indoctrination with Christiainty and the psychic power that has gone into it. It is obvious the Bible is a hoax and a lie. "We shall now endeavor to answer the question which must naturally arise in the minds of all who see for the first time, the similarity in the legends of the Hebrews and those of other nations, namely: have the Hebrews copied from other nations, or, have other nations copied from the Hebrews? To answer this question we shall; first give a brief account or history of the Pentateuch and other books of the Old Testament from which we have taken legends, and show about what time they were written; and second, show that other nations were possessed of these legends long before that time, and that the Jews copied from them." - Bible Myths And Their Parallels in Other Religions By T. The Jewish "Job," was stolen from a story written in the Ugaritic language (Cuneiform Script), composed circa 1400 BCE by "Ilimilku The Scribe." This epic involves "Keret" and the God "El." NOT Job and Jehova. Keret's family tragedies and illness are comparable with the story of Job. In the original tale, "Satan" never even entered into the picture. Here, Jewish Jehova replaces El27 By creating opposing Gods, one "good" and the other "evil" the Jews have been able to manipulate the world beyond belief. "Included in the promised inheritance was a deliverer or messiah to bring about "the kingdom." This messiah would be either a temporal, human leader who with his armies would overthrow the enemies of Israel, or a supernatrual being who would do likewise, establishing an "everlasting" Jewish kingdom as well." "The Jewish imperialism would thus come as the awaited deliverer destroyed the enemies and gave their booty to Israel. As Larson says 'This Messiah shall bring judgement upon the Gentiles and they shall become the slaves of Judah..." The above two paragraphs were excerpts taken from The Christ Conspiracy: The Greatest Story Ever Sold by Acharya S. © 1999 taken from pages 325 and 326 The purpose of the bible was: To give the Jewish people a history they never had To give the Jewish people a special status as the "Chosen of God" To enable the Jewish people to advance in their quest for world domination. The gentiles have been disarmed and spoon-fed a pacifistic anti-life philosophy with Christianity To keep all occult, psychic and mind power under the control of the Jews and disarm the gentile populations psychically. For the Jewish secret cabal to seize and direct as much psychic energy as possible into the coming of their "messiah" who will unite the Jews and rule the world. (This is the fictitious Christ, - the Jews themselves know Christ is fictitious- the "Temple of Solomon" and various other faces of the same theme). Because the multitude of characters, numbers and stories were stolen and altered from gentile sources, they are strong enough in the gentile racial memory to use as a powerful psychic tool for manipulation. • that it is God's word, and i need to respect it, even though i may not understand it at times.
  • It’s a book that contains wisdom, like being good to one's neighbours. These could be said to be inspired by a guiding spirit, God. It gives us names of people in the past who have tried to reform their societies, names like Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus. And as 2 Timothy 3:16 says “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable (a) for doctrine, (b) for reproof, (c) for correction, (d) for instruction in righteousness” However, there is a lot of it that cannot be said to be inspired by God, unless you argue that God inspires: 1- Doubt – as seven whole books regarded by the RC church as scripture are thrown out by the Protestant churches as apocryphal, unauthentic 2- Wholesale copying - 2 Kings 19 and Isaiah 37 are identical word for word. 3- Mundane details – as for example in Numbers 1:5 “... of the tribe of Reuben; Elizur the son of Shedeur. Of Simeon; Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai. Of Judah; Nahshon the son of Amminadab. Of Issachar; Nethaneel the son of....” 4- Inconsistencies – for example, according to 2 Samuel 24:1 it was God who incited David to take a census of the Jews but 1 Chronicles 21:1 says that it was Satan 5- Exaggerations – the killing of a THOUSAND men with a jawbone of an ass (Judges 15:15) 6- Unscientific statements – for example Matthew 4:8 says "the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him ALL the kingdoms of the world"of course that’s only possible with a flat earth, it is impossible with a spherical one no matter how high up you go. 7- Errors – We are told in the preface of the RSV that "the King James Version has GRAVE DEFECTS." And, "these DEFECTS are SO MANY AND SO SERIOUS as to call for revision . . ." Perhaps one of these is the word “virgin” in Isaiah 7:14 “Behold, a VIRGIN shall conceive” this has now been changed to “a young woman” 8- Fraud – where scribes have inserted text not present in the documents they were copying from, for example 1 John 5:7 which was inserted to support the doctrine of Trinity. 9- Incest - for example “the firstborn (girl) said unto the younger (sister), Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him” Genesis 19:34 10- Pornographic language – for example in Ezekiel 23 “..she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses... longed for the lewdness of your youth... your bosom was caressed and your young breasts fondled...” 11- Extreme violence – for example I Samuel 15:3 "Now go and smite Amalek, and UTTERLY DESTROY ALL that they have, and spare them not; but SLAY both man and WOMAN, INFANT AND SUCKLING, OX AND SHEEP, CAMEL AND ASS."

Quote: "Extreme violence ? for example I Samuel 15:3 "Now go and smite Amalek," Actually the Amalekites terrorized the Hebrews before the book of Samuel was even written. Deuteronomy 25:17-18 "Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt; 18 How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God."

As you see? This is the perfect example when Scripture is taken out of context.
    • borasalama
so which part "is taken out of context"?
  • 100% Satisfaction guaranteed are my thoughts when the Bible is read and put in context.
  • How important is it for those people in those days writing all those words.
  • The Bible's message is clear and simple, man is incapable of successfully ruling over mankind, God is the only one who has the right to rule humankind. The only solution to the world's problems is His kingdom, Jesus prayed for it to to come to earth during his "our father" prayer recorded in Matthew chapter 6. We can all benefit from the blessings that God's kingdom will bring. It's very encouraging to see how many people are interested in God's word, the Bible, and how many of us are trying hard to understand its true meaning and live our lives accordingly.
  • i think the bible is good to read
