If it's homemade chili I eat it loaded in cheese by itself. If it's canned chili it goes on hot dogs or on top of a baked potato.

I came up with this. Put a layer of chinese sweey rice in the bottom of a pan 2 parts stock to one part rice. Cover and bake til nearly done. Cover with your chili and spread polenta or cornbread batter over top. Cook at 300 degrees until polenta is brown. Serve with salad and fruit. Makes a nice 3 layer effect

Tortilla chips cheese sour cream --place cheese on top of chili, scoop up with tortilla chips, munch. Sour cream can be added as well.

I usually just get crackers to use as little square spoons and chow down. And just keep eating until the cows come home. Which I guess would be me at the end. +3

Cornbread, buttered crackers, or corn chips. Chili should have all the food groups in it. Onion, tomato, beans and/or meat and if you insist on something green put in a green bell pepper. I prefer the red bell peppers and some red pepper powder or fresh jalapenos or habaneros. I like fantasy child's idea of a grilled cheese sandwich with it!

I like it with beans and tortillas

Normally I'll make chili for myself and eat it as the sole item. (I make some pretty good chili, and even a pretty decent turkey chili.) I might add crackers...but normally not, as I like my chili to be pretty thick out of the pot. I suppose if I were being super-health-conscious (I used to be, years ago) that I would have a salad and a glass of milk with it.

Chili is a pretty heavy, hearty meal. It really doesn't require more than a good salad to go with it. That's what my husband and I eat when I make chili. If we had guests over, I'd probably add some bread and serve a relatively light dessert.
