• I say the people choose God, but I believe in free will. What happens to me is directly caused by my actions.
• I think you both choose eachother simultaneously.
• God chose us to be here. We choose what we do while we are here. God chooses a place for us at the end based on the choices we made when were here.
• People who think they are "chosen" by God are, I think, deluded and often dangerous. If there is a God, and he is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent, then either he does single us out, or he permits some pretty weird and random sh!t to take place. I don't think people really "choose" God either; you either believe or you don't, and no amount of psyching yourself up is going to make you believe if you already do not. In that case, it usually takes one of those aforementioned occurances, generally of the life-changing sort, to put you on that path. But I don't see it as a choice, rather more like being straight or gay.
• If you mean the one and only true God and not just any god then I'd have to say that He (thankfully) gave us free will so that we could either choose to follow His words or not. He did choose the Isrealites, in the Old Testament because of the fact that they were willing to follow Him, the others, Gentiles, would not. He wants us to choose Him but did not want a race of robots that automatically and without a choice followed Him. He is the ultimate Parent and we are His children. Some are rebelious and some are not. I hope this helps answer your question. God Bless, <:))))<>< I hope God truly blesses whoever down rated me and didn't have the backbone to comment. I answered this question to the best of my abilities and my beliefs. Sorry, you don't agree with me, but God knows who you are and you are now on my prayer list!! Again, God Bless you dear.
• It depends on the person's perspective. When I was younger I always thought God chose me. Now that I am older - and wiser - I know that I chose God.
• God chooses everyone who will let him into their lives. We as individuals have to choose to let him into our lives.
• We choose God, He says those who come to me will find refuge.
• At first, as children, we are given a basic concept of God - a rewarding, punishing, loving, jealous, rule making being who watches over us and dwells somewhere ..on high or heaven. Many children find this concept of God to be very difficult to relate to and often even harder to love, but out of fear of going to hell or some other awful punishment we steadfastly and resolutely love this 'being'. As we mature we begin to delve deeper into the texts and often have questions. There are many inconsistencies and accounts of what seem like horrific and unjust killings in our beautiful texts. It doesn't seem to fit what a loving God should be like - so we begin our search, our journey. The dark night of the soul. Many find a totally new way of understanding God. It comes not through logic, reasoning but rather through our heart .. our intuition ... our spirit. This is a long, ongoing journey - but we search and choose the God that comes to us through our heart ..... so I would have to say that it is both finding and choosing and also a true indwelling God.
• Jesus said, no one comes to Me except the Father draws(DRAGS)him(translated from the greek). And no one comes to the father except through me. this was said by the one who said I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE! God told jeremiah, BEFORE I FORMED YOU IN THE BELLY, I KNEW YOU! PAUL SAID GOD CHOSE US BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD!!!! BELIEVE IT!!!
• God chose us and then we have to choose him
• I think God laughs at these pages. The socialadvance of the dawning generation. Counterproductive and extremely neurotic.
• I think people choose Deity, not the other way around. People choose whether or not to believe.
• He has chosen all of us, each and every one of us, and hopes that we choose to believe, no matter what religion it is, because in the end all are the same.
• God will accept anyone that puts their life in his hands, and he chooses you because he made a plan for your life. But we also choose him, whether or not we wish to persue our lives with/or/without him. Thanks for your question, and have a good life! :)
• There is unity in all things. Know thyself.
• Either people choose God or an accident of their birth does. If you are born in the USA the probability is that you will be a Christian of some variety. If you are born in Indonesia more likely you will be Muslim. If it were purely down to choice then you would expect non geographical distributions. As for God choosing us well.... If so then the front runner has only managed about 1/6 of the world's population (OK between 1/6 and 1/5) and I would expect an all powerful God to get a bit closer to 100% if he were doing the choosing.
• Most of us, if we stopped to think about it, would agree that religion is something that is too important to be left to chance. Why, even in everyday matters, we try to control our own lives as much as possible. Who wants to be just a victim of circumstances? If you had a bad headache, would you quickly swallow a couple of pills found among a pile of assorted medicines without first looking carefully at the label? If you were choosing new clothing, would you grab the first suit that came to hand in the store, blithely assuming that it would no doubt fit you exactly? If you were purchasing a secondhand car, would you drive it away without even checking the engine? ‘Only the foolhardy would do that,’ you may think. Such matters should not be taken lightly. And yet, for many of us one of life’s most crucial decisions—which religion we should profess—has been decided for us by chance, by long-forgotten quirks of history, and by place of birth. Would it not be wise to ask yourself: ‘To what do I owe my religion? Was it a hand-me-down that I have never questioned? Or did I make a deliberate, rational choice?’ Asking such questions is the very thing that the Bible urges us to do. The apostle Paul admonished the Corinthians to ‘keep testing whether they were in the faith, to keep proving what they themselves were.’—2 Corinthians 13:5. On the other hand, some were moved to reconsider their religious upbringing. The Bible mentions a young man named Timothy whose mother and grandmother brought him up as a Jew in harmony with the Scriptures. At some point they adjusted their thinking to become Christians. Years later Paul reminded him of what he had ‘learned and been persuaded to believe.’ (2 Timothy 3:14) Thus Timothy was encouraged to remain in the Christian faith that he had accepted, after he himself had made a thorough examination.
• All things are of God, all things are for God and all things are to God. God is sovereign in all things. This is the beauty of "Election". It takes away any merit or work of man because all glory will go to God and not man. Here lies the deepest purpose that God had in raising us with Christ. It was not merely impossible for it to be otherwise, but alto magnificent and worthy of God that it took place in this manner. Just because it happened this way every possibility is cut off for the believer to nurture in his heart the unholy thought that there was still something of his own work involved.
• God choses the people who chose him.
• GOD is a mighty GOD. We're living under His creation. I really believe that He in charge of everything. The Bible also tell us that "no one comes to Me except the Father draws him. And no one comes to the father except through me" I strongly believe that GOD chose me before His Creation. Not other way around that I choose GOD or Not "because I believe in GOD, so GOD chose me." Note: All of the credit was done by GOD.. From: Phayoun P. Houm
• All intelligent creation has free will. That includes the angels as well as humans. All have the freedom to chose whether they will serve God or serve the creation. Most have chosen to serve the creation. God, in turn, choses to bless those that chose to follow his will and to worship Him in the manner that He has prescribed. Colossians 1:9 That is also why we, from the day we heard [of it], have not ceased praying for YOU and asking that YOU may be filled with the ACCURATE knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual comprehension 2Tim 3 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away. 6 For from these arise those men who slyly work their way into households and lead as their captives weak women loaded down with sins, led by various desires, 7 always learning and yet never able to come to an ACCURATE knowledge of truth. Note that these scriptures both make note of ACCURATE knowledge - - - (I capitalized the word to make it stand out)
• yes, GOd does choose us. God puts a new spirit in a man, and then that man is erisistalbly drawn to desire God, leading him to repentence, faith and love for God, and the things of God. if you choose god its because GOd choose you first. God intervines in our free will as he pleases, the bible even talks about this, ...Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden. Ro 9:19 One of you will say to me: “Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will?” 20 But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’ ”21 Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use? Ro 9:22 What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? 23 What if he did this to make known the riches of his glory... God Chooses us for his own ends and because he is love.
• "Many are called but few are choosen." God calls through His Voice, the Holy Spirit, few choose to listen. God Bless

• In the Bible it says something about all the followers of christ were chosen by God at the beginning. Does this then mean that people have no choice and only those chosen by God will be changed? I don't think so. God is eternal and incomprehensable. The way i see it God has chosen the people who will chose to follow him. and the people who will, in the end, reject him, he has rejected.
• ill let the bible answer: ephesians 1:4-6 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. galatians 1:15-16 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood if we have anything anything at all to do with our salvation, then Jesus didnt do it all, He only did 99%.. even if that 1% is just "choosing" or "believing" belief is a work, and eph2:8-9 says that the reason why its not through works is so that we dont receive any of the glory to ourselves.. this is God who decided it this way. we have to accept His forgiveness of course, and that is done through repentance.. but its not of any credit towards our salvation.
• first the people chose sun god then idols then the trees and leaves and rivers and desk and lamp were gods now we have this new guy and idk what'll be next
• kinda both ways. god will always be with us no matter what but we do chose for him to come in our life. he has a chosen place for everyone. God chose to make us.
• i think we choose god.
• We choose god, or rather YOU choose god, not me. What kind of question is this??
• The former precipitates the latter! ;-)
• He chooses us
• He chooses us, but we have to choose to respond.
• we people are sinful by nature...we do not chose God, we do not seek him. He saves us. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” - Ephesians 2:8-9
• Matthew 22:14 "For many are called, but few are chosen." To me this indicates God chooses us.
• To put it in simple terms, God calls us but it's up to us to either accept or reject His call. So in all actuality, it's both.
• As Mark Twain said, "God created man in his image. And man returned the favor."
• My answer comes from one experience,my own. I have 1 example and this is what happened. It says in the bible that the pain and suffering GOD wills is the kind that will change your hearts and lives and the pain and suffering that the world causes results in spiritual death. There was not anything I did, I would have kept living my life the way I was, but GOD intervened. GOD chooses us. When this transformational born again process takes place, you know it, because it is placed there in your heart. Like any relationship, it becomes a work in progress, but you know that when earthly times are tough, there is no worry, only peace. Even though faith in GOD is so beyond logical human thinking, watch this video and try and say to yourself logically that there is no GOD the creator! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1R9U5b_YV0Y&NR=1
