I usually did the breaking up, when I was still dating so I definately saw it coming!

Totally unexpected for the second time.

I have been married almost 24 years now but the only other long term relationship I was in , no, I never saw the break up coming, it was a total shock to me.

It was not expected at ALL !!!

I came home from work and all his stuff was gone....unexpected as hell! When I called him, this is all he said..."The key's on the counter, I can't take the responsibility of a relationship anymore."

About 90% of the time I'm the breakee. So I generally have no idea.

Of my 2 longest relationships...1 totally unexpected, to both of us, it just sort of unraveled quickly, in a month, after 14 years. The other was so on and off, that it was just part of the pattern, though it's been a little unexpected to me that we both may have finally moved on.

I always saw it coming and yet...I was totally surprised when it happened...lol

Oh man, my last one i totally saw coming. For a LONG time. I finally said forget you, i'm done with a bratty little spoiled guy who doesn't want to give me the time of day or even call me ever or want to hang out. That guy just wanted one thing.. jerk.

With over half of marriages ending in divorce I still expect someone who knows the meaning of commitment. I hope I get lucky but I will do what I can to improve the odds.

ttly unexpected. whenever something like that happens. i usually end up doing the "o, you want to break up with me. well you can't because im breaking up with you." *sniff sniff* a$$holes. and then i move on of course.

it was totally unexpected i can remember one day after class he got his cousin(who hates me for no reason and he knew it) to come tell me it was over lol my bff was hitting him and pushing him up against the wall threatening to make it where he cant have children! omg at least i got a laugh out of it but anyways i thought everything was going good with the guy until that day now were both over each other and moved on & were trying to friends (SO FREAKIN AWKARD)♥

Unexpected since we were doing good for months before she flipped out and caused the break-up.

it was unexpected! im 16 and my ex is 17, the night before he broke up with me we went 2 the park and watched the stars, but thn we wnt 2 his garage and he got high right in front of me 4 the first time! should that have been a sign as he wnted change in his life? well the nxt day he told me he thought we shouldnt b together anymore, that he ddnt feel the same. and i got drunk that night. and thn gave up my virgintiy 2 him about 2 months later. and i might b pregnant! do u thnk im sprung? wat should i do now?

We'd been experiencing difficulties, but I never expected him to go file for a divorce without talking to me about it first.

I have been the one that has done most of my break-ups, I really don't remember the last time someone wanted to break up with me.

Honestly I was tired of his crap but was afraid to break up so I kinda lead him to do it I saw it coming or atleast I was hoping it was coming and when it did come I felt a huge weight lifted off my shouders :)

Me and the Ex practiced for 3 yrs before we got it right and just ended it once and for all.

The two that I have had....yes for the first one, not as much for the second although I had a feeling.

I generally get a clear warning in dreams about three weeks prior.

For my first two boyfriends, it was a mix of both. For my first boyfriend, I'd noticed he wouldn't say "I love you" as much as he used to. When he finally broke the news to me, I said something like, "Okay, so you're saying it would be best to go our separate ways?" And when he confirmed that...I was SO confused....shattered, even. I was just a 13 year old girl, convinced that this was going to last, confused as to how you could do this to someone you supposedly loved. The part that hurt and confused me even more was when he'd say things like "(my name here), I always meant it when I said I loved you...", "If you really love me, you will find someone else", "Find someone better than me", ..etc. As for my second boyfriend, the DAY before we broke up, he was so depressed and not talkative at all. I kept asking him what was wrong and what was bothering him because I couldn't stand to see someone I love like that. Turns out what was bothering him was that he wasn't sure how to find a way to break up with me without hurting my feelings in the process, and this just made it worse, 'cause he saw how much I cared about him. I finally had to get it out of him, too, by saying something along the lines of, "So, what you're really saying is you want to break up?"... The one time my current boyfriend broke up with me, I didn't see it as a surprise at all. It actually made sense based on what was going on at the time. We're back together, though.

Although i was expecting it but when it happened it kinda knocked me out
