  • I have Kakorrhaphiophobia- Fear of failure or defeat. I am constantly trying to remain positive so I don't even THINK about faliure. The mere thought of faliure frightens me, makes me break out into a sweat, even. I don't really like talking about it as it makes me stressed, & I tend to get snappy. I remember back when I was about 14 I lost a race at school; I cried for days & days, uncontrollably. Not to mention I got angry, I admit I may have even broken afew things with the anger! I just hate losing. It seems pretty stupid, but it has affected my life in quite a huge way.
  • I cannot stand spiders in the least bit. Its weird because I am not the stereotypical girly girl scared of bugs...in fact Im pretty tough, but for some reason spiders make me scream and run. It doesnt matter how big..its the look of them, and the way the crawl... UUUUgghh.. its DISGUSTING!!!
  • Spiders and moths. They're too unpredictable, it freaks me out.
  • Well, I've been previously diagnosed with claustrophobia, but I also strongly believe I suffer from idiotophobia.
  • i have clausrophobia really bad and phobia of being ill aswell
  • Mine is just about the silliest. I have a phobia about OPTICIANS. I get all the sweating stress, and go completely word blind when asked to read an eye chart. I have not had an eye test since I was at school and just going into an opticians freaks me out. I want Lazer treatment but they say I have to have a seperate eye test first . One day I WILL be brave, but I have been trying for many years. I will jump out of planes but cannot face a wall chart. Now that is IDIOTPHOBIA
  • moths since I was 5 and in the bathtub and a giant moth ended up flying around me. And Ordering Pizza over the phone...I get all nervous and just can't do it, so I have to pass the phone over to something else. Or else I'll have a panic attack.
  • Coulrophobia- fear of clowns. They really, really scare me Contreltophobia- fear of being abused sexually. But I think that would scare anyone Staurophobia- fear of crucifixes not really, but it made me laugh when I saw it Aphenphosmphobia, Haphephobia or Haptephobia or Chiraptophobia- fear of being touched. It's not REALLY severe, but I do hate it
  • Birds. Any birds, but particularly seagulls and pigeons for some reason. I have actually risked getting run over, walking in the road to avoid a pigeon. The fear does extend to pretty much anything with flapping wings- I was scolded heavily by my Brownie pack leader for having a screaming and crying fit after she forced me to go into a butterfly farm when I was about nine and one of them landed on me. This phobia is entirely my mother's fault and she knows it- she has a phobia of birds herself and because I saw her express fear of them when I was little I've ended up with this irrational belief that there's something to be frightened of. Both my sisters are also terrified of birds. We used to be pathetic when we all lived together and the cat dragged one in still alive. I have memories of us shutting the dining room door to let the cat kill a baby sparrow just because we couldn't bear to do anything about it - we stood there whimpering and shouting "I'm really sorry!" at the bird through the keyhole.
  • snakeaphobia!
  • I'm Ichthyophobic. That is I'm afraid of fish. I could also be accused of being cynophobia because I'm afraid of those godless killing machines known commonly as dogs. But I'm more afraid of fish then dogs. Oddly enough I'm not afraid of sea mammels like dolphins. I love dolphins but fish freak me out.
  • I have agoraphobia at the moment. I have had it for 12 months now. That's why I'm on the computer most of the time.
  • I am seriously afraid of heights.I can't even stand on a chair without shaking and sweating.
  • Isolophobia: fear of being alone Neophobia: fear of new things, mainly new experiences or ppl Lygophobia: being in a dark place, unless im there with someone then its not so bad
  • GETTING STUCK IN A BIG HORIZONTAL PIPE NOT BEING ABLE TO MOVE FORWARD OR BACK OR MOVE MY ARMS, I'M OKAY WITH OTHER ENCLOSED SPACES IS IT STILL A PHOBIA ?
  • Needles. Blood. Medical operations. Drugs. I don't know the scientific names and none of them have been "verified" by a psychologist, but I am terrified by these.
  • Fish are my biggest must unreasable phobia.
  • spiders, snakes and heights
  • My phobia is being stuck in really small spaces, being under water and spiders.
  • Closed places, lizard, snakes, rats and mouse, spiders, fire, electricity to name few. I am fine with dead bodies, cockroaches, earth worms.
  • 1 -("Wierd") People, people I can't place, but recognize, and I don't think they have good intentions. (Unusual, strange, and suspcious people) 2 - Wild Animals. 3 - Heights, when I don't have control and a feeling of logical safety.
  • Mice, rats and then the older I get the more I have problems with being being in very confined spaces like when getting an MRI.
  • I am deadly afraid of: 1. Deep, dark waters 2. Open closets 3. SPIDERS 4. The grudge 5. Oh, and my friend's mom's house. It is SO filthy, I can't stand it. I was once in her kitchen and I saw a cockroach crawl out from underneath her cabinet and into some food they had left open. I was just staring with my mouth open in disgust. I almost threw up, I ran out of the house and waited for my friend to come out.
  • Heights, i am scared of heights. Quite funny considering i am about 6ft4 tall.
  • My phobia is of needles/having my blood drawn. The sight of the needle, the tightening of the tourniquet, the anticipation of the needle piercing my skin and hearing that sickening *splash* as the blood fills the vial, it drives me into a hyperventilating frenzy. This problem only extends to my own blood. I've drawn blood hundreds of times, I've assisted in surgeries and yet, I still pale at the sight of my own blood. It only seems to get worse as I get older. I think it started when I was six. I was bitten by a rabid dog. I had to have a series of injections in my stomach. I have a vague memory of being chased down a hospital corridor by several female nurses and male attendants/doctors. They cornered me, caught me and held me down while one of them did the injections but not before I sunk my fangs into a few of them. MORTAL WOMBAT!!!
  • You bet I do and it is Clostaphobia or fear of small, tight places. I'm not so bad about the small or tight places as I am about knowing I cannot get out when I want. If not, I can freak out. My daughter is even worst and she has problems with even getting on an elevator which I'm not bad about that. Elevators in Europe however are normally really small and one in Rome was so small that we could only get three people in it. My daughter and I took the stairs !
  • I have a fear of heights and an odd fear of lightning which only affects me sometimes. Im also scared of a few of my school teachers . Like the science teacher. I dont do science bt i am afraid because hes very weird and he might blow me up with chemicals.
  • Going mad is my greatest phobia. Not knowing what is real or fake....... losing my sense of reality. And having an unrequited love.....................
  • People. Those things freak me out!
  • not sure if it's quite as bad as a 'phobia' and it's really silly but i get really really freaked out if i can't have an isle seat on a plane/train/bus etc. It once got so bad that when my brother was throwing a wobly about having a window seat I started shakeing and crying uncontrollably. Which was so embarrasing becasue it looked like i was just throwing a small childs tantrum.
  • I don't like driving or riding over bridges. This is probably because I can't swim. I really do not like elevators either, partly due to some bad prior experiences. I can't avoid bridges or elevators so I just try to subdue the anxiety and deal with it.
  • I'm agoraphobic, and antisocial, and deathly afraid of happy people. Makes it very hard to find anywhere I can be comfortable, everywhere seems to either be too big, or too crowded, of too full of happiness, so I end up curled under a heavey quilt listening to R.E.M. and slipping in and out of consiousness.
  • I couldn't give it a name ending in phobia, but I have a fear of drive throughs at restaurants (unless of course there was such a thing as drivethrough'o'phobia)
  • Getting my blood drawn from my veins. This thought horrifies me. If anybody every tried it, I would probably ball up in a corner and start crying and pleading with them to leave me alone. I'm not afraid of needles, and I've had hundreds of shots in my arms(upper, outer part) due to allergies, but the thought of blood flowing through me freaks me out. I almost pass out when the doctor tries to take my blood pressure. I can't even stand to listen to my own heartbeat. Stupid, but aren't all phobias?
  • Butterflies absolutely terrify me. I took my daughter to the National Zoo in Washington D.C. If you've ever been there then you'll remember the butterfly garden (it's an enclosed greenhouse-type area with all sorts of flowers and bushes... and butterflies!). I had no idea that this room was going to be full of butterflies and I absolutely freaked out. You couldn't have gotten me out of there fast enough. But yeah, butterflies are my biggest phobia. Moths bug me as well but not as much as their colorful counterparts. Pretty much any insect that flies or jumps, birds, fish (only when i'm in the water with them - which doesn't happen too often if I can help it). Anything flappy or hoppy really freaks me out.
  • claustrophobia, but not really bad, and i'm really scared of heights, someone else said this too and that they couldn't stand in a chair. I can stand in chiars, but i can't raise my arms and look up in the chair. Also, idunno if this is a real phobia, but i can't walk around my school campus w/o someone i know walking with me or i break out in a sweat and i get the feeling that everyone is staring @ me.
  • I sometimes fear my own rage. I'm VERY laid back and I tend to have one big explosion about twice a year. I usually enjoy it while I'm feeling it but fear it before it happens. I don't hit anybody or anything. I just open my mouth and, with my words, take NO prisoners. When I'm done and I re-enter my body I usually see dropped jaws all around me and I get TOTAL respect from everyone who was witness to it. I think the contrast between who I'm usually perceived as being and who I become when I'm in rage mode is too much for people to process.
  • Cotton wool and pigeons, not necessarily together, tho THAT would be a nightmare!

  • I'm scared of Doctors and Dentist (hospitals, etc.) Anything that has to do with them. I hate shots, and If I'm just in the building of where the doctors are, i feel dizzy. I hate them. • this is going to sound so stupid but here it goes......On long car rides and I'm not driving I fear that I'm going to have to go to the bathroom (#2) really bad and the person driving will not stop fast enough and I will end up shitting myself in the car. • Driving on slick roads or with a lack of visability....ever since I was the aide on a school bus that took handicap children to school and we MANY TIMES had to cross busy highways with me standing by the door "listening" for traffic because we couldn't SEE far enough to know we'd safely cross...the driver and I literally prayed each time outloud for the lord to keep us safe...and we were...but I have a lasting phobia from it, to the point where I've become nearly housebound in the winter.

  • I do. Thunderstorms. It is pretty bad. Sometimes I need to take valium to calm me (how Victorian of me...).
  • Mine is spiders. When I think of them, or see even a picture, my skin gets cold and clammy and I shudder all over. Years ago, back when we actually had the encyclopedia set in the house -- pre-internet, lol -- I couldn't keep the 'S' volume in the house because I might be looking something up in it and accidentally let a page slip and land on 'spider'. If that happened.. oh, it wasn't pretty, lol
  • I am terrified of drowning. But I'm fine swimming in pools or even close to the beach in the ocean, it's when I'm watching movies shown entirely in water, or people drowning, etc. I start to hyperventilate. I used to be scared of the movie Pinocchio when I was little.
  • I don't have a phobia- I think I have a phobia of not being loved- does that count? I'm afraid that I won't be loved- its stupid and weird...
  • hieghts - but I am pretty sure my inner ears where screwed up as a kid.
  • Heights, but only in buildings, when I look down I feel like the buildings moving and about to fall over. If I look through the window of a plane thats fine, no problem there.

  • I am terrified of heights. At the age of 9, I was in a bus that nearly went over the side of a cliff. I was on a trip with my counseling group, all of us had been molested. So you can imagine all of the drama that went on as we scrambled to get out. Seriously, we were crying, hyperventilating, really panicking. Now I can't be up high. I also can't touch used sticky things; stickers, tape, gum. I can't even pull tape from a package or present. It really freaks me out. I can't handle those sticky namebadges that say "hello, my name is". Uggggghhhhhh
  • i have a phobia of dark, because i was once accidently locked in my room in da dark for an hour so i waited in da dark and heard noises know i never can b by meself in da dark. and i am 13.
  • Ugh... I have a phobia of gnomes. When I was around 6 my cousins played a cruel joke on me. They told me that gnomes were living creatures that moved when you weren't looking. Well... I sat there for a while and watched a gnome. One of my cousins called my name so I turned and talked to him for a moment when my cousin that said gnomes were alive... turned the stupid thing so it was watching me. When I turned and realized it had moved, I freaked out. They did it a few more times later that day and me, being so young, believed it. I still hate gnomes and even my English teacher torments me with a small gnome in his room. Weird... I know.
  • I have a phobia of being left alone. I guess its because when i was younger all my siblings were teenagers and my mom was busy watching them and making sure they didnt get in trouble with the cops so until i started school i didnt really have friends so i hung out by myself. Once i had friends at school i didnt really want to go back to being alone so now i freak when my friends aren't at school and i wont shop are do pretty much anything else on my own. and wow that sounds kind of sad and makes me seem like a loser. lol
  • I don't like snakes. When I was in boy scouts many years ago, someone threw a rubber snake in my shower. It really scared me quite a bit. Also, right now, I've been having insomnia -- and getting afraid of the dark over the last month... I think it's been triggered by job stress & wintertime blues.
  • I have Arachnaphobia. There's not a real story behind it- I just don't like spiders and never have. I'm deathly afraid of them and won't go near any kind with a 20 foot pole. The sight of them makes my flesh crawl and having one in the vicinity of me is likely to make me cry like baby. If a spider ever finds its way physically ON me, I'd likely faint.
  • I have a phobia that my son is going to pay for the bad things I did before he came about.
  • I am scared to death of dolls. I guess it was when i watched x-files that one time when i was little... Plus, after i told my friend that i had a phobia of dolls, she threw a baby doll at me (when i was at her house) and when it hit me it said 'I love you!' and i screamed and chucked it at the wall, at the same time she was rolling on the floor laughing her head off. Plus, she took me, blindfolded, into her sisters room (which is lined with dolls) and i sprinted out of the house. I wouldent come back in until three hours later. During which time we played catch with a baseball, and she teased me by constantly by telling me that a doll was walking around the corner of the house with a 22 shotgun.
