  • Howdy, Take it from an old fart, you'll get over it. And I don't mean to sound glib. I know it's bad now, but give it some time. I broke up with my high school flame 40 years ago, and believe it or not, we are very good friends today. We haven't lived in the same town for 40 years, but always stayed friends over the phone and mail. I consider that person one of my dearest and oldest friends, but you couldn't have told me that 40 years ago. Advice? Hmmm, how about if you truly love someone you want them to be happy. It is difficult to act happy when your heart is breaking, but sometimes it is the best way to prove our true love for someone. Good luck, Yak
  • Give yourself time to cool off, then decide whether you want to be friends. It will be hard since you probably have to see him at school. I assure you, with 100% certainity, that you will get over it. I'm 28 and dated a guy in high school for 2 years. We are now friends still and it's nice. He's married with a kid and I am very happy for him.
  • I was in the same situation four months ago.. went out with him for two years and he broke up with me said he wanted to still be friends. We have the same group of friends so I see him sometimes. I'm finding it impossible to talk to him. I can't even look at him. We've text each other and stuff but its just too hard to talk to each other. I'd say try to not see him for as long as possible to give yourself a chance to move on. Delete his number so you can't text him becuase if you do text him you'll just regret it. Maybe in a year or two you will be able to build a friendship when your emotionally ready. Thats what i'm hoping will happen for me anyway. Right i'm keeping my distance from him because its still too upsetting . Its gonna be so unbelievably hard and I know your probably feeling absolutely devestated but it will get better. I cried everyday for about a month. Make the most of your girlfriends/ sisters. they are the people that will help you feel better and you know that they're always gonna be there. hope everything goes well for you anyway.
  • not much you can do about it, maybe someday you'll get another boyfriend
