  • My dad was a blond haired, blue eyed German. Honestly, if you look at Hitler, he was neither.
  • Black hair, brown eyes and tan skin just doesn't seem as European as other looks. I have the same thing. I'm also part Irish and people wonder why I don't have pale skin, blue/green eyes and blonde hair or red hair. But there is this small amount of people who came from European countries and have a more...I dunno...Hispanic/Darker look to their bodies. It's a good thing in my opinion. When ethnicities mix, it makes for a beautiful canvas.
  • I get the same response. I am mostly Swedish and have dark brown hair, green eyes and olive skin.
  • Ethnic stereotypes: "We all know what Germans are like, don't we? The men are fat, and love beer, leather trousers, sauerkraut or bratwurst and beer, and have dodgy facial hair. The women are icy Teutonic beauties with blonde hair and blue eyes. Both sexes loathe inefficiency, love the Fatherland, have never been late for anything in their lives, and would secretly quite like to invade Europe, even if they have to do it via the EU. They speak perfect English, and eat about five meals a day. They don't know the meaning of the word Witz (joke in German). Well, that's the stereotype, let's check out how true it is." "Blonde Hair and Blue Eyes Yes and no, but mostly no. Some Germans do have blonde hair and blue eyes. You'll find more blondes in Germany than you would in say, China, but no more than in many Northern European countries. • I am heavily into genealogy and am about as close to full blooded German as you can get, My parents on both sides were Germans and I have traced the family clear back to the 1730's, Most of my family on both sides were Amish and or Mennonites from Pennsylvania first and then later Indiana and southern Michigan. They kept pretty close to their own ethnic background for a couple hundred years. Both My mother and father are dark haired with brown eyes as are all three of my brothers. I am the only one in my immediate family who looks stereotypically German since I have blue eyes and blonde hair. I look exactly like my mothers father, We could be almost twins except we were born 50 years apart.
  • One side of my German ancestors came from Bayern, Germany and they all had dark, full hair, dark eyes, and dark olive skin tones. They were handsome people, hard working and had large families. They were farmers and merchants. Another side came from Wurttemberg, Germany. They all had dark, full hair and dark eyes, but fair skinned. They were butchers and brewers by trade. And also had some that came from Hanover, Germany, also farmers. None of my German ancestors from either side had blonde hair or light eyes. They all came to America at different times in the early 1800's and we have lots of family pictures. Actually, I never knew of a blonde haired German until I learned about Hitler in school. I have med blonde hair with red tones and green eyes, but that is because there is also Scott/Irish in my family. But both my brothers and sister have dark hair. So don't let anyone think it's strange. They just aren't familiar with German heritage.
  • When you say you are almost all German, what exactly do you mean by that?
  • I am a blonde hair, blue eye Pole, so is my daughter. But people think we are German. So I know what you mean is a strage way. The truth is certin traits are assoieted with family, not country. Blond hair and blue eyes genes may have been formed their. This is just study those. Brown, black hair was around long before blond hair and it is a way stronger gene.
  • Same can be said for the french..people are super fast to assume im from carribean because I'm black. The same can be said for white people in africa..Its just simply where they are from. *shrugz*
  • I am Italin with blonde hair and blue eyes, so I know what you mean. It is base on what majority of people in the area look like nto the calter its self that people don't recognize.
  • Believe it or not, I have had some people come up to me and know right away that my ancestors come from Germany! Ive even had people come up to me and start speaking German! I have dark brown hair and brown eyes, and Im very tall and skinny! My mom's side of the family is from Northern Germany and she had dark brown hair and hazel eyes and my dad's family was from Southern Germany and he had blond hair and hazel eyes. Ive always had questions about why people from other nations and countries look the way they do and I still dont know.
  • Well usually, the way your traits sound, you would be italian. I'm almost full German with Cherokee, Irish, and Italian in me, mostly German though, and I have blonde hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. I look German. But like I said, they way you sound, I would say people think you are Italian.
