Well, admist all of the non-material answers, I guess I have to be the one to pick something that came in a box. It was christmas and I had been with my non-commital guy for a few years, we had never really talked about a wedding or anything but he knew I wanted one sooner or later and was in NO rush. I got an engagement ring for christmas, TOTAL surprise, never in my life did I expect it. It was the gift that started our life together, and brought us our daughter..It was the BEST.

The SMALL THINGS ALWAYS COUNTS the MOST in LIFE. I'd like to start my discussion with that very premise. Connectively, among all of the countless gifts I've ever received, the one which touched me the most was a simple card given to me by my dearest male best friend (I actually have two, you see). He wrote me a simple poem in that very card - a poem which tried to detail the very essence of my pyramid-like personality. I was deeply moved upon reading the literary contents of that touching and sensitive work of poetry which he so wrote for me, because I never expected him to know me that much, considering that every time we talk with each other, we simply pull and push in sarcastic jokes and philosophical remarks that tend to hit us both thru the nerves. That gift alone, made me feel more human (although I love the other gifts I've received, too), since it had an entirely special sentimental value that means so much to me. I really cried upon reading his poem that day; and every time that I do so (up until now), I still feel like crying. Thus, I'm not opening that card anymore....hehehehe.... :)

I was joking around with my little sister one day, that I wanted an Invisible Cloak, after reading a Harry Potter book. For my birthday, I got an empty box wrapped up with a note inside that said this was my Invisible Cloak. It was the coolest, because not only had I forgotten about that conversation but it was so creative. To this day it is still one of my top 3 favorite gifts. No one has been able to top that since. Though as an honorable mention I once got Super Tampax (so I would have a super day), a couple Hundred Grand (the candy bar... I wish!), and a pack of smokes. (I smoked at the time.)

We went and had a fantastic time together. He was working extremely long hours and I hardly got to see him at all so the week at Disney together was really special.

My husband (was my boyfriend at the time) got me Lasik for my birthday. I could only see about a foot in front of my face without my contacts or glasses, always had to grab my glasses just to see what time it was when I woke up in the middle of the night, and if my glasses weren't where I usually left them when I took my contacts out, I was completely lost and had to feel my way around. It's been 5 years now, and I don't think there's a day that goes by without me being amazed how well I can see now.
