How come bugs can get into light fixtures but they can't get out?

Many bugs use the sun and the moon as navigational aids... those objects are far away, and bugs can always fly between those light sources and the ground. The brightness of a light fixture confuses them, and causes them to fly in circles around the light.

Well, some do get out . The only ones you see dead in the fixtures are the ones who didn't manage to get out.
