  • God IS real. And ur answer would be the bible.
  • My upbringing makes me think it. My faith keeps me thinking it.
  • Nothing so far.
  • faith helps you believe god is real, but seeing is believing. also when things happen, and you just cant explain it. such as living through an accident, were you should have died makes you think. but still physical poof makes you believe anything
  • Human need.
  • The evidence of works in my life and in the lives of others. Things have happened at times when there was no other possible help available but God. http://www.collectivewizdom.com/GratitudeforToday
  • for most its faith, for me...I AM GOD!!
  • I think god is real because seven years ago I divorced and started drinking heavily and using drugs. I was at my lowest and fearful of losing my 2 kids. I had a purferated ulcer and had a near death experience. I asked god to keep me alive to see my kids grow-up and I felt a jitter in my body of energy. Slowly I recovered, met a wonderful woman, quit using and drinking and added 4 kids to my life. Now I am happy engaged and with 6 kids. Now tell me if god did not step into my life?I need to be here on this life because he died for me and YOU!
  • What makes you think that you are real?
  • My kids and the way I was raised that helped form my current beliefs that I challanged in my teens and twenties, I will come back and answer in more detail later... got to get the little one to the bus.
  • Because I can, just as someone can think God isn't...and we may both be right. You may think onions are gross and disgusting, and I may think they're delicious...and we may both be right.
  • You can't "think" God is real, you can only "believe" He is.
  • Faith.
  • The mirror. I am my own 'god', for want of a better word.
  • Maybe do to the places I've been, that most could not or would not even dream of going. And for some reason He has keep me around to this day. For with out faith in Him. I don't think I could of made it this long.....M.C.S.
  • I can breath
  • I read it somewhere, and books don't lie! ...Though I also read somewhere that god doesn't exist... How can that be? It's a paradox, I say.
  • the fact that the big bang theory is ridiculous!
  • Faith, I dont need anything else :o)
  • Our science teacher once filled a balloon with confetti then breathed air into it. She then popped the balloon and explained how this demonstrated the expansion of the universe and of the big bang. I asked her "Who popped the ballon?" Besides, you have nothing to gain by not believing on God.
  • It is not a thought. It is an awareness of the obvious.
  • This is the classical answer; Either there is a god or there isn't. We have the option of acting as though there is a god or there isn't a god. So, we can act a) as if there is a god or b) as if there is no god. Let's run the forumla. If we act as though there is a god...and there is, we win everything. If we act as though there is not a god...and there is, we lose everything. If we act as though there is a god...and there in't, we lose nothing. If we act as though there is not a god and there is not a god, we lose nothing. So, the reasonable man will act as though there is a god. That's called "hedging your bet".
  • God is a theory that cannot be proven or disproven hence to the eyes of religion you are delusion and to your eyes religion is delusional but do remember God is just a theory as well as atheism. Both your opinion and the opinion of religion doesn't support proof so you are going to have to try alot harder in the search of truth instead of merely saying that God doesn't exist. If you have PROOF to support your claims that God exists then show it if you don't then stop saying he doesn't exist.
  • Because I am real. Self awareness and consciousness cannot evolve nor develop accidental. It must/have to be intentional created. My existence along with yours stand a proof for GOD.
  • I know that he is real because I was on drugs and he removed my obsession. No human aid can keep an addict off drugs so when I got sober I experienced a profound God consciousness. I have no use for religion however. It's so silly. When you know that God is real you don't need religion anymore.
  • Doubting Thomas, no need for the assumptions and name calling ("narrow minded"). It doesn't matter if the universe's age is eternal or finite. Awareness and consciousness cannot evolve nor can it develop accidentally. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE for it period (but the opposite). Now, matter is energy but energy is not awareness NOR consciousness. So your very existence testifies and stands a proof for GOD. Self awareness and cogitative ability CANNOT evolve nor can it be a result of an accidents no matter if you have a eternity (simple mathematics probability). It is/must be intentional created. ALL evidence in the physical universe testifies to this.
  • Personal knowledge. It is ridiculous to expect a physical proof of a spiritual Being. God is not some quantifiable natural phenomenon. He's a PERSONALITY existing beyond our spacetime continuum. The ONLY way ANYONE can be certain He exists is if you meet Him. But if you accept historic and archaeological sources, there's some pretty good EVIDENCE for Him.
  • Many things. I go out at night and look at the stars and the moon. How living things are made. The gift of faith. The need that I had that has been filled. I've never seen God or heard Him literally talk. It is a matter of faith -- Hebrews 11 1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
  • Apparently, it can be proven by this guy:
  • nothing external...internally, my conscience...
  • Read the "theory of nothingness" for insights. The only logical answer to our existence (thing) is that we come from "no-thing". This nothing is not like anything from this existence. This nothing cannot be measured or confined. This nothing is unlimited, unified and perfect in all attributes. In Islam, we say that "nothing" is God himself and has conscious. And God is the causer of big-bang to happen by choice. On the other hand, atheist who believe in theory of nothingness might say that big-bang was a probabilistic inevitability and "nothing" is not entity with conscious (God). Quran says that there is nothing like God. He is eternal, unified, unique, complete, and perfect in all attributes. He is outside above and surrounds our existence. God has attributes like face and hands. He acts like sitting on throne and speaking to moses. However, Muslims do not ascribe a mechanism or an image to humans when speaking of these attributes and actions. Because He is "nothing" like us. This is where Islam differs from Christianity. For instance, if we talk about God sitting on throne, we would imagine the Father or Jesus sitting on their butts on the throne which looks like thrones from crusade movies. However, in Islam, we don't go that further step and imagine in our minds how God sits. Because he is not like anything of this world. For further details, you would want to read articles on the "creed of oneness" which is the main core of Islamic theology. Now I just showed a rational deduction why I am comfortable with believing in God. As a Muslim, I would go a step further and brig forth the issue of miracles, prophecies, scriptures, etc.
  • When I was at a seriously low point, I got a feeling of a presence beside me.. And an overwhelming urge to go to church. And I did. Only for a couple of times. It helped me realise alot. And havent smoked weed since! Now some may say it was my crazy mind! lol But I feel it was God.
  • Well for one, I have seen God's love, power, presence and supernatural healing in my own life. And I have seen Him change many many others, transforming their hearts and their lives, healing their wounds, peircing their darknesses, breaking their addictions, and touching them eternally with His love. But if you are looking for evidence, I encourage you to start an investigation! Does God exist? Is Christianity credible? Is there an intellectual basis for faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God? Billy Graham said in a letter to someone: "Over the years, I've met many leading scientists and other intellectuals who not only believed in God, but told me they had concluded it was far more logical to believe in God than to disbelieve in Him. "Why did they come to this conclusion? One reason, I discovered, was because they had an open mind, and were willing to examine the evidence for God and weigh it carefully and honestly. Can you say that about yourself—or is your mind closed, because you aren't willing to change it? Only you can answer this, of course—but I challenge you to be honest with yourself, and be open to the possibility that God does exist. "But many of those men and women came to believe in God for another reason: They examined the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, and came to put their faith and trust in Him. You see, Jesus made the most startling claim imaginable: He claimed to be God in human flesh. He boldly declared, "Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father" (John 14:9). "Was His claim true? Yes—and the reason is because Jesus did something no one else had ever done, or ever will do: He died and three days later came back to life. Do you want to know what God is like? Look at Jesus Christ—and when you do, you won't only discover that God exists, but that He loves you and wants you to be part of His family forever." ~Billy Graham "Over the years I have met many outstanding scientists who were also strong believers in Christ."~Billy Graham; in ministry for 70 years. "Some of the most devout men and women I have ever known were also scientists or engineers. To them, there was no conflict between their faith and their reason—in fact, some told me they went hand in hand...They also had discovered that faith in God is logical. They came to see, for example, that it's much more logical to believe God created this complex universe than to believe it all happened by chance." ~Billy Graham What is some evidence for God? There is a fantastic book out there called The Evidence That Demands A Verdict (or actually there is a newer copy, so it is called "The New" Evidence That Demands A Verdict, by Josh McDowell. In the introduction, he says this: "Is Christianity credible? Is there an intellectual basis for faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God?" "During my fifty years of sharing the good news of the Savior with the academic world, I have met very few individuals who have honestly considered the evidence yet deny Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of men. To me, the evidence confirming the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ is overwhelmingly conclusive to any honest, objective seeker after truth." To understand where he's coming from, in Josh Mcdowell's story, "He Changed My Life", he said: "...Then my new friends issued me a challenge I couldn't believe. They challenged me, a pre-law student, to examine intellectually the claim that Jesus Christ is God's son. I thought this was a joke. These Christians were so dumb. How could something as flimsy as Christianity stand up to an intellectual examination? I scoffed at their challenge. '...I finally accepted their challenge, not to prove anything but to refute them. I decided to write a book that would make an intellectual joke of Christianity. I left the university and traveled throughout the United States and Europe to gather evidence to prove that Christianity is a sham. "One day while I was sitting in a library in London, England, I sensed a voice within me saying, 'Josh, you don't have a leg to stand on.' I immediately suppressed it. But just about every day after that I heard the same inner voice. The more I researched, the more I heard this voice. I returned to the United States and to the university, but I couldn't sleep at night. I would go to bed at ten o'clock and lie awake until four in the morning, trying to refute the overwhelming evidence I was accumulating that Jesus Christ was God's Son. "I began to realize that I was being intellectually dishonest. My mind told me that the claims of Christ were indeed true, but my will was being pulled another direction. I had placed so much emphasis on finding the truth, but I wasn't willing to follow it once I saw it. I began to sense Christ's personal challenge to me in Revelation 3:20: 'Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me" (NIV). But becoming a Christian seemed so ego-shattering to me. I couldn't think of a faster way to ruin all my good times. "I knew I had to resolve this inner conflict because it was driving me crazy. I had always considered myself an open-minded person, so I decided to put Christ's claims to the supreme test. One night at my home in Union City, Michigan, at the end of my second year at the university, I became a Christian. Someone may say 'How do you know you became a Christian?'' I was there! I got alone with a Christian friend and prayed four things that established my relationship with God. (He tells how over the next eighteen months his entire life was changed, and how the love of God unundated his life)... 'I think Pajaro Dunes represented a turning point for many of us. Individually we all had questions about evolutionary theory, but when we came together each person brought something of their own to the table and suddenly we all had a glimpse of a new way of looking at life that none of us had individually seen before.' ~Dr. Paul A. • Miracles happen every single day and we all just pass them off as coincidences.
  • What makes YOU think he is not?
  • Do you belive in Fairys, Leprechauns, Ghosts? The very fact that we need to discuss whether something exists means that few people believe it at all!! And the fact that Faith is involved also means its belief, not evidence and/or reality. Does a cup exist? Yes it does, we can see it touch it, smell it, therefore it exists. We cant however sense any God, therefore it doesn't exist!! You could probably say that black holes exist, but we cant use our naked senses to see them, yeah this is true, But we have scientific evidence using instruments to verify this. God on the other hand has no evidence scientifically!! But then you could say, people have experienced God, miracles have happened. This isn't evidence at all. These people are without a shadow of a doubt deluded! One persons experience isn't proof, miracles have no evidence at all, they're coincidences! Humans are vulnerable to many illusions, that are just that. We don't believe something we have no evidence for!! Why are people so irrational!!
  • Outside of people's all too fertile imaginations, not one blessed thing. +5
  • It doesn't matter. And there is no point into speculation. The experience of omnipresence cannot be discribed with words, thus it should not even be attempted. To deny that infinite truth merges into the center, the soul, is mere folly. For it has been experienced by so many people in revelations whose purpose in life changes forever from that instant. For in that instant was a gift given to them. The purpose of life then becomes sharing what has been given them. Given by Whom? Or What? Again, this does not matter. It is not your concern. From this reality construct/illusion, it is not knowable. Knowledge of truth and God is reserved for later in the stages. Specicifically 5th density timelessness. What does matter is this: breaking free from self-imposed limations that create the belief in the past. The past is over. There is a Voice in each person, which guides them. This cannot be denied. Your only responsibility this lifetime is to learn to hear this Voice in everything, and let it guide you. Be very still, and hold onto nothing. My brothers and sisters! The reason why we all need to return to oneness is so grandeur, that it is unspeakable as well! Yet know this: infinity is increased each time a Son of God returns Home. And that you are a Son of God. We all will experience revelation. Yes, pray that it comes soon. For nothing in this world can ever be so cherished as that experience. Which words cannot even touch. Life is more incredible than most people realize! I wish you all the courage, strength and guidance needed to penetrate into true awareness of Self.
  • I had a near death experience. However, I don't believe in God exactly. I do believe in something spiritual though. There is definately a force at play. As far as it being a God of any Bible, I didn't believe that before my experience and, I believed it even less after my experience.
  • The following helps one to think the opposite! Read 'The Devil's Chaplain' & 'The God Delusion' by Prof. Richard Dawkins & 'God is Not Great' by Prof. Christopher Hitchens. One could read 'a small essay on evolution' or 'the whole history of religion of past 3,500 years or so'; to learn the same truth! Go to: http://www.richarddawkins.com/
  • The Bible. He's been there for me in times of need, he's helped me get through everyday in life. Just he makes me be glad that things work out certain ways and helps me out a lot with everything. Whenever I need someone to talk to he's always there for me.
  • What makes you think that I think that?
  • Not the bible of course. What makes God real is the unanswerable question to the beginning of life.
  • She told me so:)
  • I'm going to approach this question a little differently than most in here. It's not a popular answer but so be it. For years I have been hearing/reading conversations like this in AB and other places: Non-Christian: "Prove to me that God is real." Christian: "I don't need to, I know He is real. Prove to me that He is not!" This argument, of course, ends up going in circles and becomes redundant really fast. So who does the burden of proof really rest with when it comes to proving the existence of God? My feeling is that the burden of proof rests with God! It's simple really. No longer will I make arguments, no longer will I present a 3 point sermon, equipped with a Power Point presentation and cheesy background music, and no longer will I learn diagrams or train myself in the art of verbal persuasion. God has revealed Himself but many have their eyes closed. If you want to know if God is real, then you should ask Him. You are either honestly open to the fact there is a God, or you are not. If you are, then sincerely ask Him to reveal himself to you. If you are not, then stop expecting Christians to carry the burden of proof that is not theirs to bear. My commission, as a Christian is to preach the Gospel, not prove the existence of God.
  • i used to think God Was real, then i discovered that God was Living inside of me, now i can say i know God is real.
  • I don't think that. Reality proves to me that there is no intervening god.
  • when i look at my kids ..:O)
  • god is not all that great...but God, my God, is! Please note the difference in the respect shown.
  • the fact that we are here. and also that we have everything already on this earth that we need to live. also that the sun is the exact distance it needs to be away from us to keep us alive
  • Me existing.
  • Just me.
  • You can feel him . You can feel his love :)Just open your doors since he is knocking :)
  • uhh. Following the crowd?
  • I don't think that any man alive could be powerful enough to display such consecutive coincidences
  • I specifically think Jesus Christ is real. He is the only Divine Being who conquered death. I think it is naive to think that in this vast universe there is not a being greater then mankind.
  • Found God. But you can't think God is real and have knowledge of God. Thought is what prevents people from seeing God. God is beyond thought.
  • Answering only for myself, God is real because He spiritually called to me when I was 8 years old. Nineteen years later, after living life my way, I heeded His call, became born-again and now live my life His way and a great and rewarding way it is. To me, Yahweh God is very real and nothing will ever change that.
  • let me qualify that i do not believe in a religious "god". i believe "god" is real because everyone in the entire world, including atheists, use the name "god" on a daily basis and more often than not more than 25 times a day. keep "him" alive by uttering "his" name. if it exists in thought, it exists in the world.
  • Nothing "makes" me think that God is real, I simply believe by faith that He is. Pretty simple really.
  • and what makes you think electricity is real ?
  • why ask why drink bud dry? faith, the bible, 95% of the population??
  • Surely, you must have me confused with someone else
  • The joy I feel every day.
  • What makes me think snakes can talk, water "just" parts, human life has only been on earth for about 6000 years, a space alien made women from a rib of a living man? Like C H I C K E N N N M A A A A N! He's everywhere, He's everywhere! God must be the ultimate crime fighting crusader in tights with a cape too and Dr. Miracle Worker.. Calling Dr. Miracle Worker...Calling Dr. Miracle Worker. Patient on floor 5000 needs brought back to life..
  • BIOLOGICAL life, atoms, electrons, Strings - it's all too funky and too advanced for all of that to have happened by chance. But to presume it's there for us because we're loved... I've got kind of a problem with that.
